Have yet to listen to it, but I don't like the line "our club knows it's more than winning". What? Winning is all there is New draft second verse:

Also replace the second "We're the Eagles, we're flying high" at the end of the song with an almighty "UP THE &$*%^(#(% COASTERS!!!"

I quite like Birds of Tokyo so that helps but reckon they've polished it as well as they could have

In the immediate aftermath of a win, you don't want a quietly building intro, you want to be straight into a vocal-wrenching, drum-thumping victory anthem.

The fact of the matter is the drummer from birds of Tokyo played in a band called Tragic Delicate with the singer of current Perth Desert rock titans Giant Dwarf. Therefore The Westcoast ( as Gerard Healy would say) should have done there research and got Giant Dwarf to punched out epic reworked stoner rock master piece of the original song.

The club song to me has always just been "...and we're here to show you why, we're the big birds, kings of the big game. We're the Eagles and we're flying high".

You can belt that shit into the face of oppo supporters all night, so it still checks out from my point of view.

Haven't listened to much Birds of Tokyo, but just had a spool through their music videos and my god, it is identical to corporate wedding video music.

Wish Ian Kenny had channeled his Karnivool side instead, surely 00s angsty nu metal fits the brief better.

They should have gotten Tangled Thoughts of Leaving to do an instrumental discordant drone so the players can chant whatever tf they want over it. Or better yet just play 'Yield to Despair' on full volume towards all Freo fans after we win a derby.
