I saw the 2nd half of the Sandy game today and Bruce looked the goods. Was moving freely, running hard to space, and got a lot of the ball. Seems to have improved his kicking aswell. Looks ready to go in a weeks time.:thumbsu:

Bell Carrol Frawley
Petterd Miller Bode
Davey McLean Bruce
Green Newton Morton
Yze Neitz Robbo

White Jones McDonald

PJ Dunn Maloney Buckley/Valenti (if they can put grimes on the injury list)

How did Rivers go? (if you saw him)

And if you saw them how did Whelan, Dunn, Bartram and Morton go?

Thanks:thumbsu:

Negatives: Didn't see much of Riv. Was on the bench for a while...really didn't spot him, whether this was due to the heat and resting him or simply being out of touch I'm not sure. Whelan at times looked disinterested, to be fair it was bloody hot...doesn't seem to be moving all that freely. Another negative was Nath Carroll's hair, looks like roadkill.

Positives: As I mentioned earlier Bruce looks a lock for round 1, played very very well. Bartram looked a home in the middle, got a few clearences and moved freely. Morton is so very raw, but showed glimpses of the excitement machine he will be in the future...there was a passage of play on the right forward flank where he busted through the pack and took the ball, lost it, got it back and with the Williamstown players bearing down on him nailed a ripper from 50 on the boundary off one step. Wheatley was very good off half back, only concern is he turned it over about 3 times in as many minutes coming out of the backline in the last quarter. Dunn got his head shaved...looked solid and did some good things. Frawley has bulked up quite a lot.

thought on S.Buckley as i feel he may start wing in round 1 and if not rotate off the bench frequently.

Dees will be missing a few: Bate,Carroll,Sylvia, + i dont feel Morton will get a game round 1.

Petterd,Whelan,Bruce,Bartram,Rivers who is unlikely isnt he. Have to all prove there ready so Buckley's a good chance and i feel hes ahead of Moloney??

Can buckley play as HBF or HFF or is he a genuine midfielder?

Here's mine.

FB: Bell Carroll Bartram
HB: Frawley Rivers Petterd
C: Moloney Jones Wheatley
HF: Bruce Newton Green
FF: Robertson Neitz Davey
Foll: White McDonald McLean

Int: P Johnson Morton Dunn Buckley

I don't know how anyone could have Miller in their side.

Now look I'm an optimistic person, but I just saw Hawthorns team and even with 4 of their best out, we're gonna get castrated. Pack it up fellas!

What's up with Matthew Bate??? What type of injury has he got? I like this kid and reckon he's going to be very good but I can't find any information on his injury?
