Upgrading Pick #12

There has been much talk by many Melbourne supports that we should try to upgrade our first draft pick so we can snare a KPP. So how do we think we should go about it? A few scenarios could be:

Pick #12 and Jones
Pick #12 and Bennell
Pick #12 and Warnock
Pick # 12 and Bruce
Pick #12 and two of the above players
Add more if you can think of them

These could go to GC or even West Coast.

Should we try and do this and how should we?

Whilst that may be true, a team like Essendon would love him.

We have had a good run with high draft picks of late,lets not upset the applecart & dispense of a player who is valuable to us & popular with the playing group!
I'm happy with our first pick being no 12!

No we wouldn't, I don't think we need anymore unaccountable inside mid's without any pace. I would rather take a punt with pick 8, or just take smith from SA who i think will still be thereat pick 8

Pointless to upgrade pick 12.
No team other then maybe Gold Coast will give up their first round unless we give up a star which will not happen.

#12 + Jones would be worth more than #12 + Bruce, given their ages. I doubt any of those 4 players would get us into the top 4 so I wouldn't bother.

Well yeah, Bruce is uncontracted and may very well be in negotiations with GC and Melb. Jones might also be keen on GC and vice-versa. Otherwise, the only reason why I'd think Melbourne haven't resigned him is that they want to get an inkling of what clubs might be interested to in a trade for him. I don't think he is going to the GC, and I'm pretty confident they're going to be putting him up for trade. That said, it might be the complete opposite and they might be shopping Bruce, or they could be shopping both.

I would have thought P12 + Bennell would have gone close. Not that it'll happen.

I said else where all be it in jest, but PJ + Warnock for P18 is not beyond all possibility.

Im guessing GC will take Lynch with the pick before ours.

Would need pick 7 or better to snare Lynch imo.

i dont want bennell gone and i doubt it will happen
