By the way, Bryce Campbell said in his interview that he has been allocated number 31, and changes right next door to the mighty Roo. :thumbsu:

So he's avoided being allocated the dreaded #1.

With Mattner, Porplyzia and Bock having big numbers, there's no excuse for the Crows to use the #1 jumper, even with #34 retired.

#38 can stay in the bin, too.

I reckon we should give young Sellars or Tippet no.52 :thumbsu: that would be a great number to wear for a young up and coming tall.

Tippet must be playing for the "skins" at this stage.

Maybe they gave him Clarke's # 4 jumper.

Other jumper numbers available are #41 (Bonaddio), #42 (Elliot), #43 (Redden) but I think they will be reserved for the rookies.

Seeya Nick - its been nice :o

Yeah unfortunately he has been condemned ....surely the Adelaide players have a choice of numbers or as I asked on another thread are they allocated numbers.

By the sounds of it they are .....Nick Gill must be devastated as I'm sure the stories around certain numbers are locker room discussions at SANFL & AFL clubs

Nick Gill - No.1
James Sellar - No. 29
Kurt Tippett - No. 4
Bryce Campbell - No. 31
David Mackay - No. 14

as on afc.com.au

Yeah, what is it with the #1 in this state?

Says a lot when we gave it to the Crow mascot at one stage, while down at Alberton everyone who takes it on seems to meet with an untimely demise.

Perhaps it's time to wheel out "00" like in the basketball?

Numbers given to Draftees

Nick Gill, at 24 the oldest of the group, has moved into the No 1 locker and the club’s first draft pick, James Sellar, has been handed No 29. Norwood’s Bryce Campbell is next door to captain Mark Ricciuto, taking No 31, Kurt Tippett has No 4 and David Mackay will be No 14.

The rest of the playing group has kept the same number but Ben Hart’s No 34 has been retired.

The No 1 guernsey has been worn in AFL games by Greg Anderson, Romano Negri, Ashley Fernee, Lucas Herbert and Andrew Crowell. The No 14 was last worn by Hayden Skipworth and previously by Alan Bartlett, Stuart Wigney and Matthew Connell. Previous owners of No 29 have included Anthony Ingerson, Brent Williams and James Thiessen.
Matthew Clarke was the last Crow to wear No 4 and the No 31 has been used by Matthew Kluzek, Tom Gilligan and Ben Marsh.

Some good things out of that, good to See Clarkey's number back in the Crows side with a young kid like Tippett taking the guernsey, and Sellar taking 29.

Plus when do you think Hart's jumper will come out of retierment, i know it will be a long way away before it does happen, but i wonder when it will come out of retierment.
