I had that worked out before I spoke to him last week.
You're right, he is an ignorant cretin and tries to talk over the top of you.
What I did was to fire a question at him just at the point where he started to talk over the top of me, and while the dullard tried to think of a reply, dived back in again to get my say.
He's very hard work, because he doesn't give callers a fair go.
