With the news that the US is heading a recession, what is likely going to happen to the $ over the next couple of months? Going there in March and not sure whether I should exchange currency now or later.

Very true.

Of course none of us are licensed to give you any financial information either.

The one thing someone could assume is that with the U.S determined to lower the cash rate to try to stimulate the economy, one could have a guess that the downward pressure would be on the U.S $.

Of course FX rates an extremely volatile instrument and are hard enough to pick days ahead, let alone months.

Definitely agree with that - sometimes, I think that you would have a better chance at winning the lottery. :)

Aussie interest rates are tipped to only go up this year, and the US keep dropping their rates to generate borrowing/spending. That all points to the Aussie dollar strengthening against the US in the medium to long term.

Having said that, the AUD has dropped 7c against the US in the past couple of months. So yeah, whatever you decide, you will still be taking a risk.
