I rekcon anybody not listed on that leader or within 9 shots of the leader has no chance to win it now
Big difference between morning and afternoon play at the Masters, particularly if the wind starts to swirl through Amen Corner.
Not sure if actual golf expert or just spewing out tropes.
When in doubt defer to option B
Excellent analysisAlso looking for players who can find the fairway off the tee, hit greens in regulation and putt well.
Excellent analysis
Sort of like "looking for a horse who runs fast"
I have to disagree it seems to me , the timing of when you go out to play matters. I get the weird most of the guys well played in the morning yesterday or early PM.Plz - times are meaningless.
Barring a deluge the greens at Augusta are super sharp, even though they don't use a Stimp they are predicted at around 12. Anything over 8 is considered fast. The main issue though is the slope, get on the wrong side of the hole and you can roll 80ft off the greenOne observation I did make from yesterday was the players, were being a bit more defensive on the putts. They know if they overhit the ball by a bit, it could run past the hole. So I think the greens are quite quick paced and players aren't taking that risk.
They are saying a possibility of rain will come late on Friday evening:Anyone tell me if it's better to tee off in morning or later today?
Wind a prick but rain slow em up and help or just a negative onlyThey are saying a possibility of rain will come late on Friday evening:
Rose sizzles down the stretch to grab 4-shot lead at Augusta
It appears the back injury that caused Justin Rose to withdraw from his last PGA Tour event is a thing of the past, as the Englishman showed once again he's a force to be reckoned with at Augusta National. Thanks to a sizzling run of 9-under par on his final 11 holes Thursday, the 2015 and 2017...www.thescore.com
So it will definitely an advantage teeing up in the morning i reckon. Winds will be blustery come late in the afternoon.
Rose was able to birdie or better on holes : 8,9 ,10, 12,13,15,16,17 on Day 1There might be some value in the 3.10 for birdie on 16. Rose is 2nd on the PGA tour approaching from 150-175, this hole is 170 and he's obviously swinging well. He averages 22ft from the pin from that range so would be likely to have a reasonable putt, would come down to whether he makes it. Makes 45% of putts from 10-15 ft if he hits a good iron shot.
I can't remember the Rd 2 pin position though. Rd 3 is back right on the elevated area and Rd 4 is front left where the ball feeds down.
