Decent match.

Nadal was outstanding. The career slam and 9 slams overall at the age of 24 is mind-blowing.
There was always something special about this kid when he entered the tour and to see how he's improved his game and gotten all these titles is impressive.

We gotta start including him in the conversation now when we talk about the GOAT.

Djokovic I thought acquitted himself well and showed some balls in this tournament.

Well Done to Nadal, was actually a good final. Djokovic has a solid game plan, played really well at the end of the 2nd set but couldn't quite keep it up all the way. Nadal served well again, especially on the big points, there were a few fast out wide on the duece court I don't think he would of been capable to do a couple of years ago.

Again, congrats Nadal, he deserves the career slam, and his tennis has been brilliant all year. As for Djoko, he can held his head up high after this, he showed some mental strength this tournament, still should of lost first round but his effort against federer was brilliant. Probably will go on and win Indoor Paris again.

USTA pres just said "...makes this the greatest tournament in the world." very funny.

Novak looks sad :(
What a hilarious comment, but did we expect anything less?

Well said.

Was a good match, tons of intense, high quality rallies. Novak played very well, Rafa was just sensational as he was all tournament. Looking forward to seeing how Djokovic handles the Asian swing now, JMDP bombed out badly after his breakthrough last year, Djokovic has a little more experience but it'll still be interesting.

nadal clearly a well deserved winner this year and i would be backing him to win all 4 next year if he is fully fit all the way through the year

In all seriousness, I'm sick of having to pick a bloody European to follow if I want to support someone in tennis. When is another Aussie going to step up and give us something!

This has got to be the weakest representation we've had in the men's side of the draw since we took the sport up.

Nadal
- 5th time a player has won the French-Wimbledon-US Open treble
- 4th player to do the treble (Rod Laver did it twice)
- 1st since Rod Laver (1969)
- 4th player to do any treble since 1969 (also Connors, Wilander, Federer)
- 1st leftie since John McEnroe (1984)
- 3rd Spaniard to win the US Open, 1st since Manuel Orantes (1975)

It has been like this for a few years now and probably not going to chnge a whole great deal for a while. Least we have got Sam and Lleyton (when he isn't injured)

Has this prick never heard of Wimbledon?

I mean we've got 4 Grand Slam events but everyone is aware that Wimbledon probably just has that slight edge in terms of weight and history.

So for this idiot to try to pass that comment accross when everyone knows that it's not true is pathetic.

Even taking Wimbledon aside you couldn't put the US above the French, they're well and truly equal.

Dipper you couldn't be more right. I'd even argue the AO is better than USO for a number of reasons too. I was referring omre to the fact though that the USTA are bunch of morons.

Also I know some people don't like Djokovic, and I personally wanted Nadal to win, but I think he's a decent bloke. He made a good speech last night, people are probably a bit harsh on him, there are worse brats than him. (e.g. Roddick).

BTW, the US Open crowd are total idiots. The amount of yelling out prior to the players serving was totally ridiculous, a real disgrace to the sport. I always go into the US Open so excited and always come away thinking it's the worst Slam.

Yeah mate no worries I knew what you were saying by posting it.

Agree, his impersonations are pretty funny too and the fact that Federer is offended by them makes me chuckle even more.
