I don't think it will matter if the game went on for long just as long as Nadal and Federer win... they are elite athletes 1 day recovery is enough for them.

Nadal will be champion before the final even begins if Federer and Djokovic play a grueling match tomorrow. Why does the US Open persist with Super Saturday? Well, I know why ($$$) ... but no day break between the semis and the final is ****ing ridiculous. Hopefully both matches last roughly the same time, which should leave no room for excuses after the big one.

disagree. Not in these windy conditions, Federer is a master of this.Nadal admitted in his presser that he had a lot of trouble controlling his forehand. I personally think if Fed meets Rafa in the finals he is the favourite.

That's not really that much of an excuse. Look at Andy Roddick in 2003, he came back from to 2 sets to love down to beat Nalbandian and came back the next day and beat Ferrero. Should not be an excuse. I like the way Super Saturday is done apart from the whole no sleep thing.

agreed.Look at Rafa in last years Aussie Open, played a 5 hour match against Verdasco and came back 36 hours later to play another 4 and half hour dogfight against Roger.Roger looks fit as anything and it shouldnt be a problem for him.

Federer shouldn't be favourite against Nadal on any surface in any conditions. He hasn't beaten him legitimately since 2007 for a reason.

djokovic is playing some really high quality tennis atm, if can somehow maintain his focus throughout the whole match and not have a meltdown if he is losing he is a big show to knock federer off, lets face it, on potential he can be the best player in the world he has the weapons and the athleticism. federer whilst playing well to me is vulnerable if someone can take the initiative which no one has so far (soderling should have but meekly capitulated), Should go 5 sets if both are playing at a high level although im not sure fed is at his absolute best level and probably wont be ever again. Nadal should beat youhzny who would be stuffed after the gruelling match against wawrinka.

im not sure about that.US Open is the fastest slam surface by a mile and the conditions are pretty terrible.Federer plays flawless tennis when others are struggling.I dont see much of a logic to your point based on previous encounters.

Congratulations to Pakistani Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi who made the final in both the Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles, albeit losing both, thus becoming the 1st (and 2nd) player from Pakistan to make a Grand Slam final.

And also to Australia's Daniela Di Toro who has made the final in both the Wheelchair Women's Singles and Wheelchair Women's Doubles.

Djokovic was the better player for most of the match and was the deserved winner in the end.

Impressive the way he played aggressively in those final few games, including those match points against him.

Federer seemed to be on the defensive for a large part of the match but his slice looked as effective as Sam Stosur's. A lot of loose shots and 'nothing' balls up the centre of the court...all in all a sloppy match from him.

Does anyone else think that in the future, immediately after Federer dies and they lay his casket in the ground, Total Power will magically show up out of nowhere and start dancing on his grave?

Fed can keep going as long as he stays at the standard he is at now, and that is still having the ability to win a slam.

I think there are a number of players that want to get to Wimbledon in 2012 for the Olympic Games. Get the feeling that there could be a number of retirements after that.

this year has to be considered a failure for fed, yeah he won the aus open but nadal was nowhere near 100% and murray just doesnt know how to win a grand slam so he got away pretty lightly there. He is part of the pack now and not head and shoulders above everyone except rafa, Rafa is now daylight ahead of everyone imo, if he wins tomorow he will do what federer hasnt done and thats win 3 grand slams in a row in the same year and achieve the career sweep of all the slams a long time before federer did.
