Tomic can make a 4th round by beating Ramos, Nishikori and Robredo.

Totally doable, he's too good for these guys if his head is in it.

Round 1 Mens Draw (Australian's): (Tough draw for the Aussies IMO)

James Duckworth V Tim Smyczek (USA) (Possible Round 2 Opponent: Winner of Paire V Bogomolov JR)

Lleyton Hewitt V Brian Baker (USA) (Possible Round 2 Opponent: Winner of Del Potro V Garcia-Lopez)

Marinko Matosevic V Tommy Robredo (ESP) (Possible Round 2 Opponent: Winner of Robin Haase V Qualifier)

Bernard Tomic V Albert Ramos (ESP) (Possible Round 2 Opponent: Winner of Qualifier V Kei Nishikori)

(Still have Matt Reid and Nick Kygrios in the qualifier i believe)

Round 1 Women's Draw (Australian's):

Ashleigh Barty V Cabeza Candela (ESP) (Possible Round 2 Opponent: Winner of Razzano V Pavlyuchenkova)

Sam Stosur V Qualifier (Possible Round 2 Opponent: Winnder of Sanchez V Hantuchova)

(Still have a qualifier or two i think)?

Will his head be in it though? that's the question he is so up and down. Hopefully his head is in it!!

Would like to see Matosevic show something in the US Open.

Dellacqua, Rogowska through to final round of Quallies. Matt Reid out.
Rodionova currently on court, serving for the first set.
Kyrgios at 1 set a piece, but up a break in the third. C'arn Nick.

On a side note, does Dellacqua only play singles at the slams or something?

Some winnable matches for the Aussies in the maindraw, we'll see what happens.

EDIT: Kyrgios through, Rodionova up a set and 3-0.

Nishikori would be favourite going into that match. He's a more complete player than Tomic IMO. Tomic lacks killer instinct - he plays very well but usually can't finish off that good work. Kei plays differently but is far more consistent in his shot-making.

I think Sammy Stosur is our best bet this year. She's hit some very good form lately. :thumbsu:

Yeah Casey and Ash have had some crazy scheduling, no competitive matches since wimby, ash is understandable because she's young but there is no reason why Casey isn't playing warmup events

Really excited about Kyrigos, also hasn't played competitively since wimby and goes out and wins 2 round in qualies. The talent on this kid...

I really think its a good draw as far as the men goes, you rarely get an easy one and they are all winnable. Duck worth and Smycek will be an absolute grind but Ducky has the game to win it. Little concerned about lleyton not playing the last few weeks but baker is beatable, just hope he isn't inspired by his comeback. Tomic has the kind of draw like he did at wimby where if he pulls his finger out of his arse he can win a few matches. Not easy matches though. And Matosevic has beaten Robredo on a hard court this year, again very tough but very winnable, time to man up Marinko.

Sam's is so tough though, Hantuchova in the 2nd, petrova in the 3rd and Kvitova in the 4th.

When did Hewitt last play? Thinking that semi he lost to Isner, was it in washington?

edit: The semi was in Atlanta, then he lost to Harrison in Washington, and has hidden away with shame since I guess.

Not sure whether they will but all winnable matches on the men's side to a reasonable degree. Sam has a tough draw but she's in some form. Hoping to see Del Potro at the later stages it was good to see him in form at Wimbledon.

Was anyone else surprised to see Federer as the seventh seed? I know he's not setting the world on fire anymore but that's quite a drop. I know Ferrer is consistent but against the big names he's relatively harmless, and he's seeded fourth.

Not that surprising really. He hasn't defended most of his points from last season - so it makes sense.

Look at his results. He's really actually struggled in a lot of the 1000 and slams this year, well compared o his insane standards anyway

Great effort from Nick. After not playing since Wimbledon to qualify for a grandslam is great. Casey also qualified plays another qualifier Tomljanovic in the first round. Liv lost 6-2 6-2. Rodionova lost 6-3 6-2. My tip is Nadal and Williams. Hoping Murray goes back to back though.

So i think the womens bottom half will play on day 1 and the mens top half will play. Since im bored im gonna take a guess at what the OOP will look like for the 3 main courts:

Arthur Ashe 11:00AM:

Dinah Pfizenmaier Vs (2) Viktoria Azarenka
(1) Novak Djokovic Vs Ricardas Berankis
(6) Caroline Wozniacki Vs (Q) Ying-Ying Duan

7:00PM:

(11) Sam Stosur Vs (Q) Victoria Duval
(3) Andy Murray Vs Michael Llodra

Louis Armstrong Staduim 11:00AM:

Lleyton Hewitt Vs (WC) Brian Baker
(7) Petra Kvitova Vs Misaki Doi
Gulmerio Garcia-Lopez Vs (6) Juan Martin Del Potro
Ayumi Morita Vs (4) Sara Errani

Grandstand 11:00AM:

(WC) Maria Sanchez Vs Daniela Hantuchova
(12) Tommy Haas Vs Paul Henri-Mathieu
(13) Ana Ivanovic Vs Anna Tatishvili
(5) Tomas Berdych Vs Pablo Lorenzi

Thoughts? Everyone should post what they think the OOP will be :)

It will be a great experience for the youngster but I doubt the scoreline will be fun to watch.

Ferrer is in poor form and I'm curious to see how his groundies match up with him, I don't think it'll be that bad, it'll be fun to watch for the curiosity factor.

Chris, I can't see SAm headlining a night session but i'll have a look

I think it's between her and Vika. Sam is also playing a American.

Yeah, I would go bottom half of the women's and top half of men's for monday too:

Arthur Ashe:
Day session:
Caroline Wozinacki vs. Duan
Juan Martin Del Potro vs. Garcia-Lopez
Stosur vs. Duval

Night Session:
Victoria Azarenka vs. Pfizenmaher
Novak Djokovic vs. Berankis

Louis Armstrong:
Kvitova vs. Doi
Berdych vs. Lorienzi
Ivanovic vs. Tashtivilli
Hewitt vs. Baker

Grandstand:
Wawrinka vs. Stepanek
Errani vs. Morita
Goerges vs. McHale
Blake vs. Karlovic

What do you think, Chris_2593? Andy Murray's little bit will be held to Tuesday with US Open wacky 3 day scheduling.

Well it's the opposites sides of the draw playing. Arthur Ashe has Radwanska Venus and Nadal. Then at night Serana and Federer. Kyrgios plays last on Louis Armstrong. Tomic first on Grandstand. And Barty third on court 15.
