He fell over on his knee in the 2nd set, it may be hampering him a touch but looks alright.

Very surprised he called the trainer at 6-5, bit of a jerk move really.

I was lucky to watch him live at the US Open against Ferrer last year. I have been singing his praises ever since

First on the bandwagon :D

Yeah, the bandwagon has been on for about 2 years now. Sure, the casual tennis public probably didn't take much notice till AO or especially Wimbledon this year, but I think the 2013 Juniors Australian Open win is the moment the bandwagon was well and truly on (solidified by Stepanek win at RG last year). In tennis circles, it's not like he is an unorthodox, secret talent that came from left field, and Canberra has been behind Kyrgios for some time now.

What about those that jumped on his bandwagon after he beat Stepanek at Roland Garros? Surely they were first on the bandwagon!!

:D :p

It was tongue in cheek :p

Anyone think he can beat Robredo?
Probably depends on which Robredo turns up. It certainly won't be over until its over, Robredo had another 0-2 sets comeback today.

Ferrer and Robredo are some of my favourite players, so either way, I'll enjoy the Tomic-Ferrer/Kyrgios-Robredo matches. Since Kyrgios is in a higher round and more likely to win, good luck to him.

Oh Sam. :drunk: Kanepi hasn't played a good match in months.

Anyone think he can beat Robredo?
Yes. Robredo isn't overly fond of big, consistent hitters. He can grind them out but has pretty extreme grip changes and is prone to getting overpowered. Plus, he's hot and cold. Nick's going to have to play a few more shots than he'd like, but it's an alright matchup for him as long as he keeps his cool and doesn't let Robredo just force errors. I'll take Kyrgios in four.

In other news, Madison Keys falls to Aleksandra Krunic. One to watch out for in the future. Her beast serve gives hope to all the 5 foot 2 women out there. (Yes, I'm talking about you Sara Errani)

Stosur should just stop. Has made a career out of losing to nobodies.

What is wrong with this statement? Anyone?

Is Kyrgios a chance? If he comes playing like he did today, he might be favorite. Kyrgios is not like getting an extra ball or two but obviously has the power to get through that. With Youzhny he was actually struggling with no pace so it depends on which Nick turns up. Clearly has the game to do it.

I'm curious where they'll put this one. With it being the weekend, cbs will want the big matches, generally a slightly less bigger match gets the night match on Ashe. This could be it. I'm probably wrong
