Jeez, I've never seen a match so easily summed up with so few statistics: Kvitova hit 32 winners to Kerber's 8, but had 43 unforced errors to Kerber's 8. Tells you pretty much everything you need to know.
It kind of tells you that counterpunchers don't get the respect they deserve. People just look at the stats sheet and go "Oh, I guess one of them just hit themselves out of it."
In reality, a counterpuncher's version of a winner is to make their opponent go for too much.

Not this year, probably still 20% off being at his best and he will have to beat Murray (who he was beaten fairly comfortably recently) and Novak to win it. It is Del Potro's best surface but he would need a LOT of luck, and would need one of those two favourites to lose. I don't like his chance of beating both over 5 sets back to back yet.

can no longer play consistent high level tennis in a 5 set match u would think.

It's great that she's been able to back herself up with good performances after winning a grand slam down under.
I was worried that she would fizzle away after winning it, but she's a clear #2 with the ambition to overtake Serena.

she did for a little. nothing on the scale of Muguruza. Kerbers Indian Wells/Miami/FO was very inconsistent with a lot of round 1 losses(and 1 title). since then, she has been basically flawless. one of my most fav players to watch.

Serena has to lose before the final for Kerber to be any chance of taking it this week. Struggling to see anybody in that half of the draw that will really trouble her though. Stranger things have happened, but I think her draw will see her through to the final at least.
