I like it when wildcards are given to players who have performed well on the challenger circuit or are coming back from injury.
If a player is coming back from a ban (drug or behavior related) I don't think they should get the wildcard. They should be forced to qualify like anyone else.

Just because you don't have a standout player in the field, doesn't mean the draw is weak.
I think the quality in women's tennis has increased beyond most peoples expectations over the last year or two, there are a good 6 or 7 players that could win this years slam.

Agreed. It has been the womens tournaments that have been better over the last 2 Grand Slams...
Look at the mens...Nadal flogged everyone at the French and Fed flogged the scrubs at Wimbledon. It was so boring.
