Federer all but admitting he hasn't been 100% throughout the tournament in the press conference. Good to have the obvious confirmed after his repeated denials in the last 2 weeks.

Sad that his chances of becoming the oldest ever number 1 are now gone, but I can't complain too much given I never thought he'd win another slam let alone 2. Plus if I'm forced to a pick a player he loses to it'd be someone like JMDP. Impossible to dislike the guy.

I really hope he can go all the way as it'd be a great story after all his injury troubles. Based on what I saw today, I think he'll need to raise his level in the SF. He benefited a lot from some inexplicable misses and pedestrian play from Fed. You can guarantee Nadal won't be as generous and he'll target the backhand relentlessly.

Unfortunately it's looking like yet another uneventful men's slam final on the horizon. Hopefully it's Anderson on the other side of the net to keep it competitive because PCB would be a tragic outcome.

Yeah I know but I feel as if that the last 2 slams he participated in was sort of the Lazarus moment of his career. I think he's done but we'll see!

He had years of hell with injuries and setbacks.

I think deep down he never believed he could return to these heights after what he experienced from 2013 to 2015. It's great to see him playing well.
