He won't.

He's a fu**head and will only decline from here. There was also no guarantee he would've won that match either.

Does not deserve to pass Federer or Nadal.
Lol he will win Australia open if Melbourne allowed to get out of the house......

That's a harsh way to be booted from a Grand Slam. I've seen players tap away the ball before. It was barely more than a flick even if it did travel with speed. Clearly not intentional but rules are rules. Personally, I think the punishment is excessive for that action the way it happened.

Anyway, laying him before the tournament has paid off :D

Open draw on the men's now. Medvedev or Thiem will never ever get a better chance.

Haha, got to love a seething Feddy fanboy.

Djokovic will beat him easily. People like you were saying he wouldn't come back after his 2017 slump and he did. He deserves it too, because at his best he's comfortably better than Federer, and Federer farmed most of his slams in a weak era.
He was struggling against Busta ffs. On a hardcourt that's faster than it has been for a few years now.

And no he isn't. Federer still has a better attacking game and finesse than him. What Federer doesn't have is the same level of mental strength. But talent, saying he's "comfortably better" is just a stupid statement. This "weak era" stuff is complete nonsense, in actuality Federer just blew everyone off the court (except one person on a specific surface). Prime Federer would still be able to beat prime Djoker considering Federer himself stopped some massive winning streaks, including the FO '11 SF and still gave peak '15 Djokovic some problems when he was way past his peak.

A shame he couldn't convert those Wimby CPs, because we wouldn't be seeing stupid shit like "comfortably better". In what universe? If you want to say "marginally better", that's fine... but your choice of words are poor.

Want to seethe a bit harder, Feddyboy?

Federer won the vast bulk of his grand slams from 2003-2009. His main competition through that period? Guys like Roddick, Hewitt, Nalbandian, Safin...
Once Nadal started hitting his strides, he was good enough to beat peak Feddy on his favorite surface; grass. Literally Rafa's worst surface too.
Djokovic meanwhile hit his strides in what is probably the greatest era of players tennis has ever seen, and that's where he won the bulk of his slams. Not against crabs like Hewitt or Baghdatis, but guys like Murray, Nadal and Wawrinka who, had they played in the era from 10 years earlier, would've absolutely won several slams.

That's beside the point though. You say Djokovic won't catch your boy Feddy, which is a rather funny coping mechanism. He's had moments of frustration several times throughout his career, that's never stopped him from bouncing back. He'll still gazump Federer with ease assuming Covid doesn't ruin things next year.

Why doesn’t he deserve to pass them, that’s like me saying you don’t deserve to live.

The Novak incident was clearly an accident, unlucky but the players do need to rein in their tempers as this can happen. Didn't something very similar happen to Shapavalov? Mind you the way it was described on the news this morning on the radio I thought he'd punched her or something!

Meanwhile Thompson has lost the first set to Coric. Come on Jordy!

Jordan is doing a good job so far. He might of lost the first but he’s still playing alright. Imo.

He's playing like the 60-odd player in the world. That service game he played at 5-5 after breaking back was laughable

>most of his slams in a weak era.
> won 8 of his slams since 08 - 40% (when djokovic won his 1st slam)
>won 16 of his slams since 05 - 80% (when nadal won his 1st slam)

meanwhile djokovic winning most of his slams (15 slams), when federer is past age 30. the only one that can claim to be better than fed is nadal (can go either way). If djokivic was truly better her wouldn't feel the need to play during a pandemic.

He’s prob not going to defeat Coric but at least he gave it a go, though that set he dropped off a fair bit.

Serena had a bigger meltdown after being docked a point. Then we were told male players don't get punished like Serena does. Djokovics disqualification from the entire tournament for an accident should put that bullshit to rest.

Yes same happened to Shap and he was disqualified.

Clearly it was an accident but the tennis officials are strict with players smashing rackets and throwing the ball in frustration. I suppose officials are trying to get the message across

So Novak skipped the press conference???

It will be interesting to see what happens if Serena has a massive meltdown. But surely she's learnt her lesson by now

I would just suspend the anti vaxxer and organiser of an event with no social distancing during a pandemic for being an arrogant wa*ker.

This incident on its own is nothing. A rule by technicality but he is a massive sook. The lines person was hurt? Really????

Anyway good riddance he is gone, deserves nothing!

Why does she fall over like that, Hardly touches her lol, get up you melt.

Novak is the victim here.

She was hit in the throat...hard. She was struggling to breath momentarily. How would it feel if you were hit in the throat by a fast tennis ball. Think about it.

Of course he didn't mean to hit her, but he did, therefore he is out as a result of his actions. Consequences of one's actions it's called.....and against the rules. No-one means to smash their car either, but if they do and someone gets hurt or killed they get charged as a consequence of their actions..

There are rules for ball abuse....hitting the ball in anger and it hits a person comes under those rules.

Djokovic is not a victim...he needs to learn to control his temper.
