Thompson won in 4 this morning as well. Watched it, let's just say he has had a good draw, his game hasn't change from the break but man he fights hard so good for him.

I bet on pliskova....The odds were too tempting and I am an idiot for having faith. Not unhappy, as I never saw Riske losing and that would have sunk the multi either way. Rybakina got Shelby'ed. Yastremska losing to Brengle......wft. the big Euro hitters have had a bad day.
In my life, I want to watch Kiki Mladenovic v Anna Karolina Schmiedlova at the french. I don't think the match would ever ever end with how both players serve out matches. hopefully, Isner would be the next match on that court. Finally gets to feel how it is like to watch a never-ending match.

You missed the biggest tank since Tomic in that Yastremska match, would have hit 60+ UE's easily and they weren't just missing they were going 2 metres out!

Gauff has had the more impressive slam results.
Kostyuk is going to be a very good player though, remember seeing her at AO as a 15 year old and had a huge game then. TBH, haven't seen a lot of her since then.

Injures I think. I wondered what happened to her last year and it was something like that. She also doesnt get WC and has to work out of the ITF level.

To be fair only really Pliskova is a surprise, Rybakina I guess. The others are prone to error chokes it's more surprising when they don't lose!

I just reckon it's a big chunk of decent players to lose so early in the tournament which is disappointing.
The one thing I've always felt the seeded men's players do better is win the matches they should.
It has to be to do with the 5 set vs 3 set, it's easier to pull off an upset in the shorter format and when trailing by a set in the men's slams there is still so long to go vs only 1 set away from being bundled out so the better players have more time to get their house in order and quality comes through the longer it's played.

It’s why I’ve had a little bet on Azarenka Plays well in New York and isn’t the worst throw at the stumps also have something on Kerber both at $40+
