look i get masks are important.

but if you going to do an interview with the player afterwards, it is a lot easier on everyone to unmask and keep social distance.

I'm on the fence about this, it's probably to do with the fact that if people see their sport stars wearing one, they are more likely to.

It's odd, we don't see footballers wearing a mask during an interview.

It would be ok if they keep their social distance rather than wear a mask during an interview

All men's seeds out of the bottom quarter of the draw. This US Open is going to be interesting. There hasn't been this big an opportunity for a new grand slam winner in a long time.
you would hope so. if you just get rid of Novak, there would only be Cilic left who has won a mens grand slam title. :p

This is the least interested I have been in a Grand Slam for a long time. I think the 1997 FO & Wimbledon might the most recent grand slams which I didn't take any interest in at the time and have no then memory of. Ever since I've always been pretty eager and aware. I'll keep a tab on daily results and tune in a little on SBS during Week 2, but I just don't really care. And of the big 4 I was always a Novak fan as well.

That said, it could turn out to be a superbly gripping grand slam, so who knows. As the first slam attempt following the start of the pandemic, it will always hold some historical intrigue. I just dread a one-hit wonder slam winner, who'll never live it down.

keep this short, as I must admit, this GS doesn’t seem normal at all. Going to be some crazy results one reckons. Aja a huge chance against Kerber, who has no match fitness. Be interesting to see how Osaka and Nole go backing up.

we normally only get the world feed and the AA matches only. So I hope you enjoy watching Americans....guess as an Aussie, we really can't complain.

Well well well... This will hopefully not get interesting but has the potential to get very bad. Covid is inside the bubble.

He retired his last match, as he looked sick on the 22nd. Makes you question how long it has taken, assuming he has not caught it on-site. In which case, how did he get it inside the bubble.

Oh no that's not a good sign for the tournament. Guess djokovic is all good though as he's already had it ;)

In all seriousness though, this raises many questions. Who has he been in contact with, will they all be quarantined?

I'm going to lay Djokevic in this one. Yes he won the lead up, but only a few days between that and this tournament. I just think across the 5 set matches its so hard to maintain that consistent level without dropping one. I was really impressed with Raonic as my outside smokey, he could go deep and challenge. This is the best chance for either Thiem, Zverev, Medvedev or Tsitsipas to break through. I'll have a crack at Medvedev winning.

The women's draw is of course always open, moreso this time with a few players missing and other things going on. Osaka would be my tip except I dont trust her to play out the tournament with her injury troubles and other focusses. Look for Gauff to make a deep run, Jabuer is my smokey but I'm backing Pliskova as the toppie in this one.

Don't know why and they always give me nightmares backing and supporting them, but I'll be on Kvitova and Osaka. If Kerber gets through round 1 she's got a dream draw. The big IF is round 1 having only decided to play a week ago.

As for the men, Djokovic or Mededev, can't see the others winning. I'm surprised Thiem is playing, I thought he'd skip and focus on the clay.
