Was it a side injury? His serve speed was way down today. Might have been physical exhaustion. At 18 years playing back to back 5 setters was always going to be tough.
Better for the tournament he went today anyway. Gosh at least Mededev has SOME opponent in the semi!

Safina wasn't bad. She made multiple slam finals. She just struggled under the pressure of that environment in the final.
Jankovic was worst. But if you solely determine their performances as Number 1, then Osaka is by far the worst. As soon as she became number 1, the pressure got to her and she barely won a match IIRC.
Would love a stat that shows winning % as world number 1.

That's the one Jankovic boy she was terrible. One of the nicest girls to ever meet though so perhaps that's why I let her off the hook most of the time!

Raducanu has got the British factor plus she has whitewashed her way through the draw. She's really good too.
Pliskova will always have the cloud of her falling apart in a slam and Sakkari is one of the fittest players on tour.
Seems fair to me.
