LOL feds not gonna get del potro neither he is gonna beat nadal in a slam. Having matchup problems with murray, he can only hope the draw opens up for him.Thats how he won his majority of slams, beating nobodies in the final :thumbsu:
These same nobodies actually are capable of getting to the finals. What would you have said if Fed had beaten Del Potro again? Another win against a nobody, such as Sampras, Agassi, Poo, Roddick, Nadal, Murray, Djokovic, Soderling, all nobodies? That was not your best point. Of course if Fed had won, we wouldn't have heard a peep from you cos you picked del potro to win this ages ago, didn't you

am i reading it right or when did he win a slam by beating sampras? Cant believe you have Poo and Soderling in the same sentence as sampras agassi, nadal lmao. Carry on
Secondly, all these guys have surpassed him (formwise)..and federer won the french open cause of del potro tiredness (no not an excuse its a valid point), a haas choke and wimbledon cause of roddick choke. At wmbledon and US open he had the easiest draw he can ever ask for...geez at the US open he faced nobodies till Nole in the semifinals who has hit the wall unfortunately. He has attitude problems and that is letting him down.

Other than beating an inexperienced rafa on grass court and roddick i cant see how feds slams are quality.Oh yeah if a 34 year old agassi counts, thats quality too.

So he has fluked 15 slams:eek: Geez if only the Gooch had easy draws like the Fed. Last 3 years slams:

Federer - Aus Open (Runner Up, Semi, Winner)
- French (Winner, Runner up, Runner Up)
- Wimbledon Winner, Runner up, Winner)
- US Open (Runner up, Winner, Winner)

Write him off, he's gone:rolleyes:

Nadal - Aus Open (Winner, Semi, Quarters)
- French (4th Round, Winner, Winner)
- Wimbledon (DNP, Winner, Runner up)
- US Open (Semi, Semi, Semi)

Great record too but nowhere near as consistent

Fluke? nah never....he made the best out of a weak transition period and took advantage of a few draws opening up for him. Fluke you say? nope, never.

When's this transition period going to stop? Or does Fed make it a transition period coz he's dominates?

Hewitt, roddick dropped off.Nole dropped off, so did Murray. The only competitor left for federer is Nadal (and he took advantage of his injuries to pinch a couple of slams) and now Del Potro.I can tell you, his time is up..with a resurgent Roddick, while fit Rafa and now Del potro having federers number he will start going downhill.Just because the draw opened up at french and he fluked it didnt mean he had a fantastic year. You will see next year the decline has begun :thumbsu:

****in hell every time fed loses a slam you pop in and spout the same shit over and over again

give it up mate, nobody gives a ****

i'm sick of reading the same crap over and over again post tournament, everyone knows your opinion, so leave it

Federer is a legend of the sport. One of the greatest of all time. The best of his generation (that cannot be argued against). He has made the most consecutive semi final appearances at grand slams in history, most grand slam titles, top 5 all time weeks at no.1 (will get to number 2 on that list by mid next year), the list of records continues. He loves the sport and respects and reveres the history and its players, is concerned about the impact that he leaves on the sport, has a classic all court game and is an ambassador for the sport.

He is so good for this sport some people don't even realise. If some person doesn't see it, well it is they who are missing out on enjoying Fed being around.

And to be honest, I don't even like Fed that much, I wanted Soderling to beat him at Roland Garros and was cheering for Roddick at Wimbledon (didn't want Fed to beat Sampras record). But the important thing is that I appreciate how good he is and can see what impact he has had and will continue to have on the sport.

Er no, i was here when fed won wimbledon and french too..just search the forum.I am not a bandwagoner like most fed fans :thumbsu:

I'm actually quite excited about the Aus open coming up.... so many contenders.

Me too, for the first time in 10 years i feel like we have some competition now. Now that we have some competition, i can safely predict that fed will be lucky to win a slam.I predict a del potro vs Nadal final there (i hope he avoids JMDP till the finals ).Federer likely to reach the semis but both nadal and JMDP holds his number.Tough luck fed, you can pray for the draw to open up though

Didn't you say something similar about Fed this time last year?

Another two slam wins and 5 set final losses in the other two... not a bad year for someone supposedly washed up.

I'm sure you'll trott out all your usual excuses but results and consistency are the only thing that count.

I honestly think that Fed is past his prime, but to dismiss him as a legitimate slam contender is just plain stupid (not to mention a tad delusional).

Yet you hardly (if at all) posted during the final but said this straight after the final

Exactly the reason why i hate him, the guys a w***er.Well played roddick the better player lost.

Talk about sour grapes

I like the irony here. So Fed loses to DP in the 5th set and is basically finished. Yet this is what you said after Nadal lost to Soderling in the 4th at RG

Total Power 6/6/09 said:
Wow he (Nadal) loses his first french open match in 5 years and he is finished??? ffs the armchair bigfooty experts really think they understand this game.
another of your SUPER predictions? bookmarked.

It's funny because you could basically substitute Nadal with Federer and French open with US open...but hey, you're the expert. Yeah Fed is older but is still playing well enough to win some more majors.

But then again, how's the prediction you made following the 08 French?

Total Power 1/8/08 said:
Accept it, when i argued with you, that 26 is the peak age for any tennis player, you made fun of me, who is right now?? history shows (except agassi), a tennis player goes on a steady decline after that. I am right and you are wrong, federer is going downhill.

Yet went on to win the US open in 08 (not counted as Murray choked)

Finalist at Aus open 09 (is counted because he played Nadal. Anyone else and it wouldn't have been counted)

Won French open 09 against the "mug" that smashed your lover (therefore not counted because Nadal wasn't playing)

Total Power 8/6/09 said:
How this mug got to the final is beyond me.Even gonzalez would have given a better challenge than this.

Won Wimbledon 09 (Roddick? Not counted)

Runner up US open 09 (counted. Another prediction that Fed is finished)

And is ranked # 1 in the world. Yep, gone downhill. Hang on, it's a transition period, hasn't played Nadal, easy draws

Right now is definately not what I would call a 'transition period'. There are more players worthy of top 10 status than any other period since I'v been alive.

Any slams won by Fed are considered to be in a transitional phase. I bet this will be one excuse IF Fed wins a slam in a couple of years, along with the 5 or so other excuses ;)

i dont care, im sick of your loser predictions that fed is finished, you claim to be a genius everytime he loses

we are all tired of it so for ****s sake just give up

LOL So 1 win means JMDP holds his number, you've got to be kidding.

Great post Macca :thumbsu:

Look everywhere, he is going downhill. He was incredibly lucky at wimbledon cause of a roddick cause and at french cause of a haas choke and the draw opening up.

This as hell is not a transition period and not many can argue fed has the "god" status he used to enjoy a few years ago.His forehand is weaker than before, makes errors and his game is slowly breaking down.

Now its tough with JMDP joining the scence.Previously it was only rafa who had his number.JMDP should have won the french open too but he got a bit too tired towards the end. With nole and muzza dropping off fed squeezed out a f.o win against mugerling but now his luck runs out.The only way he will ever win a slam if he doesnt have to face rafa or JMDP :)

yet you ignore all the predictions i have made and which came true..the list is too long it might take you an entire day :)
