Maybe want to rethink that used to be part, just lost to Vania f****** king 7-5, 6-4. Pathetic girl couldn't hold her serve

:o

I swear to god anything i write, the exact opposite happens.

Stosur, well, that was beyond pathetic. Isn’t she meant to have a good serve? That explains why she was broken virtually every freaking game. Useless.

As for Guccione, please just retire. Losing in straight sets to that guy, and losing the third 6-0? Must have been another one of those pitiful Guccione tank sets, now that would’ve been exciting for the crowd.

Hewitt. :thumbsu: Once again the last standing Australian (well, soon to be). Legend.

Yesterday was one of the worst days in Slam history, all the good matches are on every second day. tonight. Stupid scheduling.

Wow, Nick McArdle dropped a massive f biomb! When previewing the Hewitt/Chela match he mentioned the spitting incident at the 2005 'US Open', then realised it was the Ausyralian Open. "US Open you f'ing idiot" he says. :D

Haven't watched too much of Djokovic this year, what's his retuning been like? Any chance Ball might be able to take a set to a Tiebreak? That's probably his best hope, as faint as it might be.:p

Did anyone get this on youtube? Would love to see this. McArdle is a great host though.

Could happen (getting to a tiebreaker) but Ball would have to serve out his skin because his ground game is too inconsisant.

Melanie Oudin, age 17, ranked 70 has just defeated 4th seed Elena Dementieva in 3 sets.

Jankovic and Dementieva upset on the same day  Oudin is really pulling off the big slam upsets.

Sick end to the Rodionova/Lisicki match, Rodionova came back from 5-2 down (saved 2 mp's) and won but Lisicki rolled her ankle badly, she was on the floor crying. Very sad

Why is Hewitt-Federer not on Tomorrow? This schedule seems to be all over the place.:thumbsd: IF it does have a system, please correct me.:p

The US Open have 12 days to get through 5 rounds (due to Super Saturday), which is why it's not necessary for everyone to play on every second day.

Stosur is incredibly frustrating. This is why I'll always maintain that Molik at her best was better than Stosur and would've won a GS, she was about 3 million times more consistent.
oh well

What country is this Melaine Oudin from? France?

I'm pretty sure she's American.

sharapova v oudin....will be interesting

How has Sharapova been going? I must admit, I have not seen a single womens match. Nothing about the WTA is particularly attractive to me these days. It really doesn't help when Ivanovic, Dementieva and Jankovic all lose before round 3.

Serious? I don't care what anyone says, the women's side of things has been far, far better than the men's so far. Upsets, tight matches with a heap of tension, it's been great.

Oudin is fantastic and Shvedova was brilliant in defeating Jankovic. :thumbsu:

Felt sorry for Lisicki as that's a cruel way to end AS I did Rodionova. She couldn't even celebrate a sensational victory.

My main issue with the WTA is the squealing/grunting when they hit the ball. Everyone's doing it and it really annoys the hell out of me. Also no one I really like on tour.

Haha I saw this, rewound on my IQ and watched it about 8 times, was funny every time. The way he saying F'ing Idiot just made it funnier.

Much prefer the men's tennis because of the quality but yes, women's tennis have a lot of tension, it can make them fun matches. Like a few of Jankovic's matches this year, I can't stand the way Jankovic plays the game but it allows for these tight long match and can provide a good laugh, the way she lost today was embrassing (must i admit i only watched the TB)

There haven't been a lot of close matches in the men's but the quality is much better, Blake going nuts from 6-3 down in the third set TB to win it was awesome, crowd goes crazy.

Expected result for Ball, he had to serve his better match ever by a long way, not happening.

As for Rodionova nice comeback from mp's down, what a shame it ended the way it did, such a bizarre situation. i don't blame Rodionova for just leaving the way she did, not much she can too. Heard comments that she should make sure "she's ok'. I think hearing "Are you ok?" is the last thing Lisicki would want to ehre.

Is it just me or is tomorrow a really, really boring OOP.

This. All this.

OF course the ATP leave the WTA for dead in terms of quality, always have, always will. But shit, every ATP grand slam is like watching a replay of the previous one. Gets a bit repetitive and is boring as hell. Until either Novak or Murray step up a level to Rafa & Fed and prove to be a consistent title threat or the ATP gets some serious depth, i'll take the WTA thanks. Entertainment is the winner.

Cue the anti-wta nazis. :)

Few nice matches today, Dent/Navarro was an interesting match, both serve and volleyers made it for a bit of a change with a tense finish, Dent pulling off a nice lob in the TB and a few good passing shots. He grabbed the umpire's mic at the end and thanked the crowd.

And surprisingly i enjoyed the Nadal match after the first set, Kiefer hitting the ball very nicely just didn't serve well enough, Nadal standing 625 metres behind the baseline allows for that sort of tennis, love the night atmosphere in New York.

Not much sleep planned for tonight, Hewitt/Federer first up on Ashe at 1am, looking forward to Isner/Roddick, Robredo/Blake, Oudin/Sharapova, matchups are getting more and more interesting.
