ADM has been to the quarters of a Grand Slam on five occasions. He has never reached a SF.

Zverev is currently locked in an intense battle with FAA... If the Canadian can upset the German, then it boosts Demon's chances significantly of reaching his maiden Slam SF.

FAA is up a break in the third at one set all.

Be great if FAA can beat Rublev if he gets past Zverve

Exactly. That's why they have sets. That's why they have quarters and halves in other sport. It allows for a reset and then you start afresh.

If you want to play a sport where momentum doesn't get halted, then take up a sport that is continuous like swimming or athletics.

It would have been bizarre if Osaka didn't take a break. She is doing nothing wrong and questions would have been asked if she didn't take a break to halt the momentum. If she does it during a set, then that's a different story.

Osaka taking taking a toilet break after losing the second set was BS. Kasatkina lost all momentum and ends up losing the 3rd set

Hate when players do this

You don't want players weeing all over the court do you?

Paul looked cooked.

Bublik 5-4 up in the 4th set tiebreaker, with 2 serves to come to close out the match.

Paul responds with 3 points in a row to take it to a 5th set.

Scenes.

Edit: he was cooked. Dead for the 5th set.

I'm surprised Paul even managed to even make it five sets, he definitely had lateral movement issues. Very much a fighter.

Bublik playing Sinner next game could be interesting, beat Sinner two months ago at Halle just before Wimbledon.

Didn't Novak do it all the time take a break in the rooms when he's struggling?

Go watch the NBA and tell me how many stoppages they have, and tell me who over does it.

Bublik riding an 11 game win streak at the moment and now he comes up against Sinner who he beat 10 weeks ago.

Bublik has beaten Sinner, ADM, Draper, Rublev and Medvedev this year so he's no stranger to beating a big fish. His victories against ADM and Draper came at the French Open so he doesn't mind the big stage over five sets.

Watch this space, potentially upset brewing.

That would be great is he can upset Sinner

Bublik vs ADM semi final

i know lost to him after being 2 sets up but playing Bublik could be ADM best ever chance to reach his first final ever

They're both playing great tennis but FAA and Bublik might be the best chance ADM has of making it to a final for a while, maybe for his whole career.

Bloody hell, Sinner has won nine of the ten matches so far.

Bublik is playing well below his best. Seven double faults already. Clearly he's worried about the Sinner return.

I just had to research who Bublik's coach is. I've never heard of him but he's apparently played on the ATP previously. Artem Suprunov? Poor game plan. Not sure why they've gone away from what worked so well against Sinner earlier this year.

Bublik had won his previous 57 service games prior to this demolition job. He just served his 8th double fault to be broken for the fifth time already. Man!

Sinner likely to win the US Open again. It will be his fifth Grand Slam victory in the past six. Who knows, though? It was well publicised in the lead up to the Wimbledon Final that Alcaraz was 5-0 in Grand Slam finals prior to Sinner beating him.

I'll give a prize to someone who can provide me with the correct answer here.

When was the last time all eight fourth round matches at ANY Grand Slam tournament were decided in straight sets (Best of five sets)?

I'm asking because it almost happened this tournament. It looks like Sinner is about to win in straight sets which will mean seven of the eight 4th round matches were decided 3-0. The other one went to four sets.
