Can't wait :) I saw the Boomers v The Dream Team in the lead up to the 2000 Olympics. I also saw Garnett, Mourning, Abdur-Rahim, Steve Smith and Rudy T at the casino the night before. Mate tried to go up to Garnett, two of his personal bouncers stopped him saying he just wanted to gamble :) Drunkenly spoke to Rudy T for about 15 seconds :)

Well the US usually sends a B or C team to the World Cups so i don't think you should expect those guys to be playing.
Normally I wouldn't but all the media coverage is saying they will be playing. There are photos of LeBron all over the paper. Many people will be going just to see him and will be very disappointed if he and other top liners that are being touted as coming out stay home.

The fact that the tournament is in China gives me some hope, it's such a big market for the guys with shoe deals and they often spend part of the offseason there.

You will get the players who declare to play in the World Champs. As people have said some of the Super SUPER starsforego the olympics (curry last year for example) so plenty will be skipping world champs as it wont mean anything to them. Dont buy a ticket expecting Lebron, KD, Curry, kyrie, Harden etc. You might get one of them but it will mostly be the upcoming stars like KAT, Tatum, Mitchell etc. Still high quality but not the elite IMHO.

Also short term contracts are becoming more normal now so not 100% sure if free agency will be finalised by then but any big name in Free Agency at that time will not be risking tens of millions to cop a Paul George style injury.

Last time Lebron played World Champs was 2006. He will be what 35 in 2019? Would be SHOCKED if he was playing this exhibition or the champs after.

Last WC had Curry, Harden, AD, Dame, Klay, Drummond, Cousins, Kyrie, DeRozan, D-Rose, Faried, Mason Plumlee (really, really weird selection even at the time), and Rudy Gay on the roster. Even if we aren't seeing LeBron, Curry, KD etc. we'll at the very least be seeing some seriously good players.

Really frustrating how quickly then went, spent the morning confirming who wanted to go, then tried to get 9 MVP packages, but by that time they were all gone :(
Yeah kinda annoying how they announce it out of the blue and then set up VIP packages straight away.

Alot of people don't have a grand straight up just incase something like this get's announced unless you rich af.

That was after the spurs championship and at that stage only Harden & arguably Cousins were bonafide superstars. Same thing will happen this time around with the next generation of talent playing. As you said will still be quality but i just hope people dont go stupid spending $1000s on tix expecting the very very best.

D-Rose still had that superstar status in 2014.

The only possible reason we might get the very best coming out is because the World Champs are in China... Still unlikely though.

I also saw the players at crown. KG was hyper and tryin pick fights with bouncers who asked him to calm down. Lucky some aussies were holding him back.

Zo was playing blackjack in a full suit and sunnies.

t hardaway and i made eye contact and i felt big despite being a few inches shorter than him.
