Good one LSV.
Now we've got CF banging on about xians again like he was earlier in the year :p

Been a long time suffering cats supporter up until 2007. So my join date will give you all an idea of my thinking at the time I came up with my username.

Should change it to something more positive really but gosh darn it I'll be damned if people aren't able to relate my oustandingly witty quips on BF to me:cool:

There's nothing too special about mine.
As i am a name sake of Michael Clarke and am infact a right handed bat and left arm bowler some mates likened me to him. Sitting at the pub knocking back a couple whilst on company time :D they had a big screen on and in the news break it was finally "official" that Clarkey was running with lara bingle. I got the slaps on the back and asked how on earth i scored a chick like that.
Bingle stuck for a little while but in actual fact it died in the a$$ a couple of years ago.....when the couple did.
I just left it as was although i considered changing it to either my golf nickname or my old school nickname.

Mine is to do with how a coach would pronounce my surname, which is Andrew, but the bastard used to put an S at the end of everything and for some reason stalled while saying it. So when i was getting an award during under 18s he pronounced my surname as And... roos. On an old forum i was on it said no spaces, so i used an underscore and voila.

Its funny, a troll on this site thought my username meant i supported Geelong AND Roos. Crap troll is crap, eh?

Dutch ??? !!!!

I started here in 2005
Ran a vineyard at the time and in tandem with that amongst my wine drinking friends at the time there was a movement (jokingly) to go back to drinking champagne out of a coupe.

And I can only assume that's where it came from.
Here's the normal champagne flute and a coupe. Far more dignified :)

You have to love the story behind the Coupe! Which vineyard were you involved in?

Basically, I am quite keen about Geelong, and I am a male. The name did this justice

You'd have to know your vineyards !
It was never given a label. It predominantly just sold the fruit.

It was a vineyard in the yarra planted by Terry Hills in the 80's.
The fruit went into labels by Martin Williams, and Diamond Valley, DeBortoli, Critenden, Carlei Estate, Phillip Island Estate etc.

We made about 600 cases in 05 and 06 but never got our shit together and labelled it all due to me being too busy running a wine wholesale business.

Complete madness as I could have sold it easily.
Still about 400 cases left which are either being sold to mates / anyone cheaply or being consumed.

That vineyard was nearly the death of me as I had a management job during the week, spent weekends at the vineyard, and had to make mad dashes out there mid week to spray if I was worried about the weather.

Not to mention the 100k it consumed.
Tip to new players. Don't get romantic about the stuff. Dont bother trying to make your own. Just buy the stuff and drink it.

Every cloud has a silver lining and the Coq Au Vin I make every week or so is pretty cheap :D

I did mention that in my first post on this thread, and did it with you and Stripes in mind :p

Bloody hell, even i'd almost forgotten that one lol.

I only use that when I get week long bans from precious Collingwood mods :D

Ive seen Angry in Mentone pop up a few times around BF! The first time I thought hang on a sec Im angry in Mentone! Then I moved away from Mentone and realised I was not in fact angry just slightly disgruntled.

Mooney the King. Thought I'd combine a couple of player names of the time.

Also MDK were the initials for a game which I think was Murder, Death, Kill, which kind of appealed - only with a sense of ruthlessness which I wanted the Cats to get (and thank fruck they did!).

I'd luv to have some witty anecdote about adverbs and humour....

alas no dice....

Daz is from Darren and Broncos from my other team... the Denver Broncos.

and yes I'm DazCats on the NFL boards... lol

Go Catters....

Lol. Looks like it made an impression. :p
Yup. It's an achievement because my brain is always so scrambled with work I don't usually remember much from last month, never mind 6 months ago. You did well :p

Ha. My first name is Andrew too and your story reminds me of a time that I ordered fish and chips from the local. They asked for a name and number. When i picked it up I noticed that they had written my name on it - "End Roo"

Let's keep the thread on track, please.

There is room for other topics either on The Scratching Post or other boards.

*cough*

my last names armstrong, it got shortened to army in primary school, because i like the english cricket team it became barmy army, then just barmy... 4 is my lucky number and barmy4 was taken... riveting stuff.

on another note, how did any part of this thread become a religion debate?!?

i personally am not religious, but being 100% against religion or religious people is as damaging and narrow minded as being 100% for it.

persepctive people, each to their own, no one is right or wrong in any sense that we can define.

i dont think anyone in this thread is/was 'preaching', and if they are, both sides are being preached.

take it elsewhere, this is a footy forum.

Bring Back Moloney came from the fact that I loved Brent Moloney, and was spewing when we traded him. I wasn't a big wrap for Ottens at the time, but in hindsight, the trade has probably paid off!

Would have been nicer if we'd given Melbourne Tenace like they wanted.
But I wonder if we'd have taken Selwood if we did.
