Hey Golfers,

I thought we would begin a new thread with a little chat around the tours. I have been watching more and more each week. Following both websites for previews and news just to keep up and imagine that I could one day hit the ball that straight.

PGA heads to Pebble Beach

http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/at-t-pebble-beach-national-pro-am.html

Has to be one of the most amazing views for golf going around.

European tour heads back to South Africa after a few cracking events in Dubai. The field doesn't really have the big names going around but I don't mind that. Good to see some different golfers suit up.

Hopefully a few others like following the events and not just playing!

Predictions? Thoughts on the early season tournaments?

In terms of course design it's hard to imagine two courses further apart in quality than Pebble Beach and the venue for the Tshwane Open which looked like a bad version of Albert Park.

In fact I've watched bits of tournaments for years in South Africa and bottom line I'm not sure that there is a decent golf course in the country.

Old Charles wins by 8 strokes, dominates the South African golf and rarely wins away from home I think that is telling you something about the state of golf there.

Thought Mickleson was back to his old best, missed a 5 footer on the last to force a playoff.

Onto this week, will put something up today sometime.

Adam Scott chips in on the last to take a share of the lead at -14.

Bubba, Dustin, KJ CHoi and Kokrak still out on the course.

I'm a part of a golf tipping comp

Based on fed ex points across the year

$50 entry

If you tip someone and they don't win you can't use them again

Great comp

Started in December i think

Leader currently on 2035 odd points

Winner walks away with over 1K
Seperate comp for the majors (included in the 50)
If you tip a winner on your own you win $50 voucher or something

damn thats alright. Might have to look at that.

The blokes I look at one week seem to perform better the following.

Scott and Garcia leading the show at the Honda classic. Scotty putting together a few solid weeks in a row now.

Adam Scott is champion.

3 top 2 finishes from his last 5 starts.

Shoots an even par round and takes the victory by one stroke.

Nice win, despite the issues with the putter he is one of the greatest ballstrikers going around. Wanted that win under his belt badly.

Is that grey hair can I see?

I will be having a look today. Plenty of time off at school = plenty of research!
Quick glance, Dustin Johnson. Perhaps.

So back him next week

DJ - the defending champ...he certainly fits the criteria of a long hitter

I'm tipping Brooks Koepka fwiw

Marcus Fraser and Adam Scott both started well.

My main man Bubbba dropping plenty of birdies (6) with some dang bogeys.

Brookes -1
