Autopsy v Essendon

Forward 50 entries painfully repetitive, just dumb really.
Kick the ball as high as possible to a pack of 4+ players. How about trying to hit up the half forwards and thus drag the Essendon defenders out of the space so Jack etc have some actual space to lead in.

Our forward coach

Guess we really do need Kingy to set up our forward line. Sad that that's the case.

You do realize Bathelor blanketed Hurley right??

Did such a good job on him that Hurley had to be sent into defense to play on Astbury.

Maybe so but he was absolutely shocking with the ball.

I just laughed at how many times Nahas tried to lay a tackle and they just stepped over him like he wasn't there

It was either that or they just wore him like an empty backpack and kept running.

love the dusty dont argue on crameri and he hurt his shoulder lol. could anyone tell me in heppell was in houli group for most disposals on tab..?

Im sick of the Dusty adulation of the dont argue. He has had a shit year and needs to pull the finger out next.

Terrible call. Has he been great? No. But he's been consistent and had an ok year. Saying he has been shit is ridiculous. Anyway, ending the bombers year is brilliant. I can't believe how they've capitulated. For the Tiges, another solid effort lacking some polish but plenty to work with.

Great to see Newman further up the ground so much as well. As has been discussed on here of late, he could be a very handy HFF type that we have been looking for. Hopefully that is what Hardwick was alluding to with trying out new positions.

Not only was it cold, but it was the windiest evening I've ever experienced at the MCG. Anything outside a range of 40 meters could have ended up left or right of the goals. We kicked too many behinds as we simply had many scoring opportunities. Look at Esendon's goals - one off the ground in the goal square, one at the top of the goal square (that was touched anyway), a 50 meter penalty (more like 75 meters) that ended up 20 meters out and a free kick 25 meters out. All in close range. Their scorecard flattered their performance and if we kicked straight, it would have been an 80 point demolition.

Positives

Martin put together 4 quarters and attacked the corridor
Cotchin had a hard tag in the first quarter, broke the tag and influenced the contest. BOG again.
Bachelor's hands above his head are strong. Strong return.
Astbury had quality opposition (Hurley) and did well. Still needs match practice
Newman's leadership. Lead from the front
We beat Essendon, who's supporters' considered them June Premiers.
Houli completely stuck it up his old club.

Negatives

Nahas looks tired, but still puts in a defensive mindset. No rewards on the scoreboard.
Jackson's disposal by foot. He should know his limitations. give it to a good finisher !
Inaccuracy in front of the goals. Mainly due to the conditions.

Tonight's effort reminded me of the Sydney game. Keep possesion and wait for the right option. Take the risk when it is there and believe in the game plan. Every time Essendon challenged, The Tigers responded. Great to build character. Cue might be in the rack, but they certainly are keeping their structure.

Obviously the club needs to recruit a Key Forward. A mobile CHF. Someone like Mitch Clarke would have made a better choice by coming to the tigers. Someone like him would be a great option.

Hasn't met expectations but has hardly had a "shit" year. Far from it actually.

Jeez, if only you displayed the same patience with 20 y.o. future superstars in their third seasons that you seem to have with duds in their mid-late 20's who've been crap for years.

Beating Essendon? Those guys losing to us was sweet and them losing couldn't have happened to a bigger bunch of flogs! :thumbsu:

Matty Knights tried to instill some passion into the Essendon Football Club. And he got sacked for that.
Bomber Thompson and the Saviour Jimmy Hird have stripped passion away from that club in a very short time.
And they didn't do it cheaply. :D

If only you were this tolerant of others,

I will watch the replay in the morning but from being in at the game, I thought batch was poor, mcgoof is still a spud, Astbury got lucky with his mark and goal but generally did diddly, nahas just was not there, still don't see the appeal of hellbig,

All the rest earns there keep.
They were talking Helbig up in the rooms after the game. I didn't notice either but was singled out as very good in traffic, hands, decisions etc As I say, didn't notice live but watch for him on the replay.

Sorry, but i will back my call... This year, compared to his first two years has been junk. Call it the third year blues, but what ever it has been its basic.

Talent to burn, but going through the motions.

For all the adulation that is Dusty, when has he imposed this year? Dont get me wrong, i wouldnt trade him for anything, but i just need to see a little more.

Crap.
Was awesome tonight. Did you go to the game and see the work he did and the gut running?
No. Of course not. "going through the motions". LOL. Are you for real?
I have a lot of respect for the way you have been posting of late, but that is just rubbish.

Dusty year one, Dusty year two, Dusty year three... Spot the odd one out.

Yeah the Bull was very good.

Essendon. What a shit team. Shit club. Shit supporters. About 12 turned up tonight.
Absolute disgrace of a club. Where were they all? What a shameful club they are.
I have no respect for any of them.

Bad call. Won't argue with you about it, because as I said, you have been posting some quality of late, but you have this one wrong.
