I agree with a lot of what has already been said, I actaully think that the game was a true indication of where we are at, we could of won but lost the last quarter due to a combination of inexperience and fatigue (mental and phyiscal) brought about by a young list.

I agree that we are missing the balance of a lead up forward. It seems that ACorn has dveloped the same thing that Mitch did last year, that he would prefer to take a speccy than play as a leading forward. His game has improved, not sure how much improvement is left in the tank.

Would love to see Staker in that role next year (assuming he is back from injury) as it would suit him to a tee. Really missing Ash in this respect as well.

Karni was great in his new role, however I think that his long term development would be improved by playing full games in the reserves rather than being the sub, needs to get miles into those legs.

Without Golby our defence really seemed to miss that extra avenue out, it amazes me how important he has become in such a short amount of time. In relation to Drummond I dont think that his form has been too form 'as such', its just that opposition coaches seem to taking him out of the game and making our run come from elsewhere. Vossie and co need to find a tactic to combat this, just smart oppostion coaching.

With seven games to go there is an argument that we could win 5, albeit unlikely, I would love to see both Bartlett and Doc, get a few games to get a taste, both Rocky and Golby have respondd well to this strategy.

Anyway, last time we played the Saints, they were atrocious and still beat us handily. This time they were much better and only beat us narrowly. We are definitely heading in the right direction.

I agree that both teams played much better than in the same game last year.

We've lost our last 4 games to the Saints by margins between 13-16 points. Just can't seem to ever nab them. IIRC, 3 of those 4 games we've led in the final term too...

Can't believe how much we missed Golby in that game. That composure and agility was needed. Can't wait for his return.
It's going to be a hard team to pick in 2013 with all the talent. (Assuming injuries are minimal)

4 Instant In's.

Leuy, Golby, McGrath and Staker.

Rich suspension is absolutely ****ed. He pushed him about 3-4 metres from the fence and if the ground wasn't slippery he could've pulled up. Jones was barely hurt. Please challenge and let sanity prevail.

If Rich is worth 2, Judd must get 20.

They're both so line ball. Slightly less force and they wouldn't even be worth a reprimand.

Are our medical team incompetent or just honest?

Has to at least been the 3rd time this year that an opponent has got off a charge "after reviewing the Brisbane Lions medical report"?

Gentlman's agreement my (broken apparently) foot - no other club abides by it!

I bet St Kilda's medical report claimed whiplash, loss of income and mental damages for Riewoldt.

Apparently we also have to pay for the box of tissues, block of Dove chocolate and the DVD rental of Beaches so Riewoldt could cry it all out of his system after the game.

Man I'm steamed.

I sat there at Etihad in Round 6 and watched Paddy Ryder shove Jed Adcock over the damn fence - MRP - 0 weeks.

Why? (say it with me together) "insufficient force to warrant a charge".

D. Stanley for Suns gone to level out a tiny bit.

Sorry to throw myself into the discussions, but I disagree. Rich and Merret missing would be far more damaging than us missing Stanley. We can put Iles in a very similar position. Rich and Merret are far more important to the squad I would have thought. Rich especially this year.

I would expect the Lions to challenge. Seems a bit over the top.

That is why I described it as a tiny bit. I definately rate Stanley's importance to the GC but acknowledge their is some depth in his position and that Rich and Merrett are vastly superior players :p . More pointing out the fact. Had GC lost another defender on the other hand...
