Headland only rated by CC as 5050 this week, so I'll doubt he'll be available.

So for mine...

OUT: Webster (Didn't do enough..again - back to Wafl)
Dodd (Injured shoulder, I'm guessing he's out this week)
McManus (Self explanatory)
Sandilands (Not req'd on Scg, + had a shocker this week)
Medhurst (Played a shocker v Brisbane, saying that he didn't get any
satisfactory delivery to him in the forward line whatsoever, but 2 weeks
in a row he''s had a poor game)
IN: Gilmore (Has been in superb form in Wafl this year)
Peake (Like Crowley v Geelong, the injection of a new player always
makes the more experienced players stand up)
Schammer (Knocked out for Claremont, but is req'd, simply for the
fact that we are running out of options midfield
Smith (His hardness req'd to give Cookie a break now & then)
Woods (Ultimatum time for Dion)

Hopefully CC doesn't play parker on O'Loughlin as micky kills him everytime - but I'm sure he will. Polak only option for Hall - would have dropped Polak this week but he must stand up v Barry. Pavlich to FF on the smaller ground, only him & farmer in forward 50...flood back, Murphy spending time in defence.

Thornton should be dropped this week, but he alwayts seems to do ok in away games - one more chance.

We usually match up pretty well against Sydney, regardless of who's in or out. I'm more concerned about getting some pace back into the team for the Kangas. Headland should be back by then. How far off are Hayden and walker and would they come straight back into the side in any case?

What's with the 211 bashing? I thought he rucked pretty well on Sat night. His ruckwork has improved 200% since the start of the year when his taps seemed to just be random (if anything they were to the opposition's advantage). His taps recently have been very effective. He did drop 1 mark he should have taken, but on the short SCG he could be an advantage.

Out: McManus
Dodd
Webster

In: Schammer
Smith or Headland
Gilmore

Medhust may actually benefit from a game in the WAFL as well. I think he is playing well enough to warrant a spot in the 22, but if he can get 15-20 kicks in the WAFL it might improve his confidence long term.

The only definite drops should be Webster (who just doesn't look up to it atm) and McManus who I think lacks the confidence in front of a crowd. His skills are OK pre-match and during training, but he goes to jelly come match time.

I know at lot of you are not Dessie fans, but I am, and believe we need him kicking long and through lines. He has got to be in our best 22.

In
Siegert
Schammer (if he's ready)
Walker - I hear he is still a week away though.
Warren - wouldn't mind seeing him play. Heard he has had a few good games in the WAFL this year
Woods - it's time to prove that he is worth a damn

Warren's been out for a while farrand and may not play again this season

I'd bring in Headland and Schammer for Mcmanus and Webster

Medhurst and Thornton under pressure

Really? What happened? From what I heard he had picked up momentum in the WAFL.

While we're on WAFL, hows Campbell going? He's not injured again is he?

I guess I'd leave Sandi in.

211 should be useful on such a small ground. HOWEVER if the guy can't stand on the goaline this week, he should be put back into the WAFL and told to stand on that goal line the entire ********ing match, so he can learn how to rush points through.

I don't think we need to inject more midfield pace on the small SCG.

Gilmores best on ground today, so he is a chance though.

The problem with dropping medhurst is we are already heavily hit by injuries.
I wouldnt bring woods in, he is our softest player, not suited to the SCG.
But who knows.

If you look at the record of teams at the SCG the "tall" sides seem to go ok, and the smaller sides struggle. So maybe we should pick woods and go tall.

I am worried how much longer we can keep on playing like Pakistan. We where rated as no chance against the dees or geelong. This week we are rated as a good chance due to our good away form when underdogs.

One thing is certain, Pav must play closer to goal this week!!!

Webster and McManus were woeful last week, they need to go back to the WAFL and find some form. Dodd didn't do very well and I think he was carrying an injury throughout the match.

Headland and Schammer should be a given to come back in after good games in the WAFL. Gilmore needs to be given a game due to great form all season. I don't know why he hasn't been given a game already.

Change Seigert for Woods. Apparently Seigert was average today.

Could Stribling be a chance?

Kaiser was injured today against EF didn't return after half time. Lord Byron had a foot injury and got K'Od. DJ has a calf injury all three must be very doubtful.

The SCG being a tiny ground, will make our slow midfield look very fast.
Other than replacing injured players ie One Melee with Happy(has been in great form) just go with what we have got.

I think that drill, Jimmy & possibly Big car back for Crows game after bye
Round 14 Sun July 3rd. Not sure about Genius has missed alot of footy got back at soufs then did a hammy.

Not sure - some leg injury apparently... probably the stress fractures that seem to be affecting everyone. He was elevated, then unjured, now on the Long Term Injured list, which is how/why Crowley was elevated.

Warren for Haines.
Crowley for Warren.

When Haines is ready, I assume both these guys will go back to rookies again.

Wouldn't think so just yet. He's only just broken into EF's league side in the past few weeks, probably needs a bit more time there. He's a tenacious little fella, but not sure if he'd be quite ready. I'm sure he'd have a red hot crack though, no doubt.

What's this about Peake being told he'll be playing against the Swans this week? I think it's good news! I'd like to see Andrew Browne come in for a run also! It'd give us some much needed run. Brownes a great defensive player too.

First selection move for the week, a swap at the Gummies. Peake for Macca.

Second selection move, Seagull for Webster.

Third selection move ...........?

Has to be Gilmore in. He totally dominated in horrendous conditions yesterday in the real derby. Played CHB, stopped many an attack by the Gummies, set play up, ran hard, kicked long and beautifully (even in the wet), had a few shots on goal, set a few goals up.

Who to drop? Should be Schofield, but I bet it won't be.

True. However, while Gilmore seemed to be a coach favourite for awhile, it seems now that no matter how well he does for Souths, there's always someone else to bring in ahead of him.

Maybe Schammer for Schofield...???

Agree with you IP on Gilmore, both he and Peake have done the hard yards and deserve to be rewarded.

On your comment about the true Derby. I was brought up in the East Perth zone (grrrrrrrrr) and I never heard any reference to the Perth Derby (Garlic Munchers v Royals), until during the 1990's. Gummies(Old Easts) v Bulldogs was always the Derby.

Good post and I like the look of those changes.

Anyone who is suggesting we bring in Woods is insane. Hasn't played well for Freo for nearly 2 years and hasn't been a standout for Perth.
