Yep. I guess that would do it! Got a match report for us? :D Wanna predict the two clubs' finishing positions for 2005?

It was a tale of 8 periods, each qtr was split in half it seemed, The reds blast out of the blocks, then Bulleen temp fought back late in each qtr. Margin never ballooned out unlike the Reserves :D Bulleen Temp played to wide I felt, but the small ground may have kept them in it as Brunswick is the widest around that it may have stopped Fitzroy dominating as they are used to a wider ground.

As for finishing positions, dunno, will learn more im sure over the next month when I get to see a few other sides, but Fitzroy were apparently missing quite a few regulars so should play finals, Bulleen Temp will be middle of the road, can look forward to atleast a couple of wins when they play Aquinas :D

Was at the D3 game between Old Westbourne and Monash Gryphons (by special request of the club through a former player and now umpire).

Reserves and Seniors flags from D4 were unfurled and then the Warriors kicked 6.2 to 1.0 to 1/4 time.

Monash kept coming after that, but the Warriors had enough going, to win 14.7 to 10.11.

Word is the new ground for the Warriors is ready, but, there's no direct power to the new pavillion. This won't be right until June apparently (they are moving from the South side of Sayers Rd to the North side, next to the school itself).

Does anyone know what is going on with Mazenod O C? Have they lost any players?

I play for the mazenod Under 19s (im 16 so its my first year of amatuers) not sure who they have lost but they did defeat st bedes on the weekend which is a great sign going by the 'experts' predictions a few posts up.

It certainly was a great start for Mazenod at the weekend, unlike our initiation into B Grade at the hands of Whitefriars. We'll certainly be more competitive in the coming weeks but don't expect to be flag favourites like Top Gun predicted with Old Essendon. Great start!

Does Kornel Dachs still coach your reserves?

Rumour is that Dave Calthopre wants to pull on the boots after the round 1 loss to Old Brighton... that's why he put his hand up to do the running at Essendon so he can get back into shape?

Thanks eddie, much appreciated!

Yeah it seems Aquinas might be percentage boosters, but they might not be the only ones. What chance some easy percentage points gained against Glen Eira?

Glen Eira are still jelling. My have a shacky start to the season but will look to finish strongly. All depends when they click the switch on, to where they will finish the season. But have no doubt an inform/injury free Glen Eira outfit is and will be a force. Have 17 players out at the moment. About 3 or 4 quality and the rest are handy.

I did see a picture of calthorpe in the paper, he's MASSIVE! Obviously he hasn't been joining in your preseason training Pineapple?

Thanks for the heads up. As I live around the corner from Packer Reserve, perhaps I can do my bit to help keep most of the 17 players out :D

He certainly casts a rather large shadow. Sounds like the round 1 injury curse was in full swing. Could a red-headed meat cut be in round 2 selection contention out at Keilor Hill?

Butch, I dont think that Keilor Hill will ever be desperate enough to have the plumper-loving, blood nut run around in the seniors. An emergency call has gone out and two favourite sons (one of them is the cut of meat's brother-in-law, oh well he's tapping his sister at least) have answered

went to st bedes v old brighton, with brighton giving the tigers a touch up. final score: old brighton 18.17 125 to st bedes 11.10 76. only a point in it to half time (7.8 to 7.9), but after that, brighton had too much run thru the midfield, and plenty of marking options up forward (OB's FF bagged 10 goals). after their loss to mazenod last week, it looks like the tigers could be in for a long year.

Saw end of Fitzroy Reds reserves and quarter and a half of seniors before heading home to get ready for the Magic Flute.

Reds reserves had a big lead early third quarter but were slowly pulled back and overtaken with about 3 minutes to go.

I overheard one (who are they, old mentone or someone) Mentonian state 'Happy 50th, Fitzroy'. WHich of course cuts to the bone, your reserve team losing a 2nd round match by 8 points and still sitting higher than the dumbalks that fell in over them. If they'd pipped our finals chances it might have been more relevant. But, as we know, if Bill Sykes won't employ you, you might as well move to Mentone.

Seniors looked good enough but not terrific, Mega, whom Rupertswood kids surely enjoyed the absence of yesterday, just commands. Still, I thought Mentone looked fairly capable. 6 goals to 3 at 1/4 time, and it something like 7 goals to 4 when I had to leave. Apparently that was it for the contest, papers say a 70 point margin!

If there's one moral you can take from this story, its that, whenever I watch a football team, they play like crap. They play well until I arrive, then they play like crap. As soon as I leave, they play well again. Go figure.

Well then you would have this poor bugger goal umpiring and hardly seeing any of the play for the last 15 minutes of the match :p

I think the real moral of the story is that you are boring and should find another thread to speak crap on...
