ridiculous isn't it? surely there can be an arrangement made between them and some other club in the area to field a thirds side (like the carrum and edithvale 3rds arrangement in southern last season). surely if they're all mates and playing low level footy it doesn't matter what jumper you pull on, e.g. Prahran, who share the same ground and don't have a single thirds team.

Collegians and Powerhouse briefly looked at this option I believe, albeit slightly modified. Players who missed out on a game at Collegians could play 2's at Powerhouse on a week to week basis.

Had the support of HQ, didn't seem to go any further.

That is correct. There were discussions a few years back when we didn't have a thirds side for something like this to occur and it never went further than discussions.

What was the arrangements between Carrum and Edithvale to give some better context ?
Edi/Asp approached the Southern league hoping to field a thirds side for the 2024 season but were knocked back, so they went to Carrum, and asked if they could field a thirds side in the league under Carrum's name and jumper. They did, and made the grand final, the whole season wearing Carrum jumpers with Edi-Asp logos underneath the number on the back. Southern accepted Edi-Asp (and Pearcedale) into the thirds comp this season.

Another 5:15 pm final scheduled for EP in the 19's.

Total overhaul of the fixture is required next season. Season is too long in every grade, regardless of teams in the grade a final 4 should be adopted.

While the VAFA want to continue to grow the size of competition, surely it's time to put a cap on the number of teams within the association. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.
My goodness how poor is the lighting at Esterwick Park?
Cars parked behind the goals please turn your headlights on.
Clubs need to boycott the twilight dark game!

We had this same problem at the VAFA v Perth FL game earlier this year where the lights were of a very ordinary standard.

And speaking of ordinary, the VAFA's camerawork of the Division 1 Grand Final between Ormond and Peninsula Old Boys left a lot to be desired with just one camera and with a wide shot view, compared to the brilliant camerawork done by the Eastern District Netball Football League media team, with their outstanding coverage of the Division 1 Grand Final between Park Orchards and South Belgrave.

VAFA HQ muppets have doubled down and scheduled the U19 GF as a twilight fixture at 5pm Elsternwick Park
Great young talent highlighted by 80 lux lights
Hopefully spectators leave their headlights on

Has any player won 3 comp B&F’s in succession?

Showing my age here but surely Bruce Bourne from Ormond back in the day. Not sure there has been a better ammos player, excluding those who have returned after their VFL/AFL career finished. Roger Paule Old Haileybury from the 70s/80s He seemed to win or place most seasons. Was as tough as they come as well.

Bruce was a mighty fine player and a legend of my Ormond footy club. In 1971-74, he had the greatest era of any Amo footy player. Along with Rob Cameron and Ron Jenkins, who were the nucleus of the premiership-winning combinations. Only matched by the great Bob Flegg who kicked 130 goals in the 1937 premiership team.
