i like the 25 metre idea..a few years back i saw an umpire in an under 19 game give three 100's ( 2 times 50's)
in one quarter and totally change the game with a ridiculous attempt to impose himself. He was a club umpire and they all went his clubs way!

50 metre is just too much of a penalty on small grounds

At Ferndale it can take you from one goal square to the other!!!

I recon that was me. Actually it was the players trying to impose themselves on me. I think I gave 13 50 metre penalties that day. Worst discipline from 2 teams I’ve ever seen. Could have given another 5-6.
But I agree that 50 metre penalties on some grounds in the VAFA way too harsh.

I was approx 10:3 against St.Kevs. There was another 3 or 4 I could have paid.

I had players swearing, clapping in my face, fighting, deliberately running across the mark.

Coincidently, a young Josh Weddle made his debut for Old Uvanhoe that day. Was clearly best on.

Also coincidentally two days later, I was in hospital (close to death as I have ever and hope to be) after taking a bad dose of a Covid Vaccine . Still waiting on my compo payout🤞

Who is your nephew?

yes-i remember Weddle playing and dominating which is incredible when you think about it.. old ivan got all the 100 metre ones which were the critical ones.

I remember an OI guys dropping his pants after being sent off...do you remember that ?

I remember young battistella kicking a few goals...

Omg-are you still seriously chasing compo? That sounds horrible!

Still have another year to wait at least.

From the VAFA:

We are pleased to release the Season structure for the William Buck
Premier Men's, Premier B Men's and Premier C Men's 2026 season.

At the conclusion of the 2025 season, VAFA received strong feedback from
many Club Presidents suggesting that the length of the season was too
long and volunteers were feeling 'burnout'. The 2025 season commenced on
April 5 with Easter occurring after Round 2. We have responded by
scheduling the 2026 season two weeks shorter than last year, with a
commencement date of Saturday 18th April, two weeks after Easter.

In order to reduce the length of the season it was necessary to remove
one of the mid-year double Byes. Whilst we appreciate this will impact
Club's who have some players travel internationally at that time of
year, the reduction in season length for all Premier League Clubs was
seen as the priority.

The Big V Representative Men's and Women's matches will be played in
Adelaide on June the Kings Birthday weekend, a traditional VAFA bye
weekend.

The William Buck Premier Men's Grand Final will again be played on the
last Friday of September, to take advantage of the public holiday
preceding the AFL Grand Final. Having that 'free air space' to showcase
our competition has seen significant growth with the 2025 crowd 8% up on
the previous year, the VAFA livestream broadcast 38% up, and over one
million social media views of our 2025 Premier Men's Grand Final content
across Instagram and Tik Tok alone. The commercial value of this move is
reflected in the continued growth of VAFA's commercial partnerships,
which provide increased revenue each year in support of the competition
services.

On Wednesday 12th November we will send notification for Club fixture
requests to be submitted, with a final fixture to be released by
Wednesday December 10th.

On Grand Final Eve this year, my family and I attended Geelong Football Ground to see a grandson play for St Joseph's in the GFL Grand Final.
Does anybody know of any other Leagues that have taken a leaf from the VAFA's 'Book of Knowledge' and play their GFs on AFL GF eve?

In Victoria it's only the 3 leagues at this stage. Geelong league, Hampden league and VAFA A grade. They've all had very large crowds for their 2025 grand finals so I suspect a few more leagues will take up the idea in the next couple of years

Your welcome everyone, especially bedford

Swinburne to have a year in the cubbies as being reported on the divisional boards.

3 senior teams last season to having a year off. A proud and very hard working bunch the razorbacks, just hope they don't go the way of Old Mentonians or become a permanent 3rds team like Masala.

You should be able to see the replays of games on the VAFA site.
Unfortunately they only have a couple finals of the lower divs 19 finals and not SKOB. And none of the home and away games for 19s. Only way I have seen so far to see any skob 19s replays is behind a herald sun paywall. Was just wondering if anyone knew where else i may be able to find their games.

I don’t believe the 19’s premier matches are filmed throughout the season.

Further to above. See attached.
Trying to even out the competition but refusing to investigate the integrity of their comp.
