I wanted to watch the OB vs SKOB game from last weekend. Does anybody know why it is not listed under Match Replays?

Thanks. I take it those pubs are long standing sponsors so you never had to chase the flthy pokie loss lucre?
We’ve always had local pubs, Prince Albert(now not operating)was our last…Railway & Stags newish.
We have 2 big lunches a year at The Railway (tomorrow the first with Ray Chamberlain)& the Stags is our Friday night raffle and a huge Sunday where we have the pub to ourselves later in the year.
It’s good to have options I always say!🍻🍻🤣

Sitting on boat in Split and trying to organise volunteers for this weekends games.

Here is my main idea to take some pressure off the clubs and VAFA.

All Reserves, Under 19’s (except Premier) and Women’s (except Premier) games get rid of the need for boundary umpires.

The new rules make them less needed.

In Under 19 North 1, we don’t get any officials except field. Nearly all Southern Under 19 games get a full compliment. I get the kids don’t want to travel, nor do my volunteers.

Isn't that already the case? I was lead to believe so.

No everyone but thirds is supposed to have boundaries. The hardest Jun to follow imo.
Well I can confirm that's not the case with Ressies in D1, we don't have to provide boundary.

Does it cause any issues eth-dog?

This is the first year the junior comp our son plays in has had no boundary umpires and it feels like a bit of a circus with at least one or two calls being debated each week. The poor old field umpires are 40m+ away and have no chance of seeing what's going on!

Last touch has made it even more important to get it right but there's less support to help out.

Would seem to make more sense to supply boundary umpires if you can and then default to field umps making the call if you can't so interested in the experience of others.

Not on our end, the field umpires make the call. When in doubt, stoppage.

Pretty sure you should be supplying a boundary in D1 ressies. Too hard for the already stretched field umps to make correct calls when they’re nowhere near the line.
Not according to the VAFA. But what would I know, I'm only the guy who organises the umpires for my club.

How were Fev and Hughsy able to play in the thirds comp when you’d assume they were paid to be there?

They dont care about that when it gives them great publicity.

BUT if clubs try and xfer in a player from a paid league:

The club gets warned about a 5k fine for bringing in a player who has potentially been paid somewhere else in the same season! And the player has to sign a stat dec like its some kind of dodgy real estate deal :tearsofjoy:
