Not so.

It still remains:

Tier 1: Melbourne Grammar, Scotch College, Xavier College and St Kevins
Tier 2: Geelong Grammar, Brighton Grammar, Caulfield Grammar, Haileybury
Tier 3: Geelong College, Carey, Wesley

Caulfield and Haileybury might have entire cohorts on scholarships ranging from badminton to violin but it won't ever change the above
I'm sorry, this might have been the case in the 1950-80s but times have changed

And the rich "new" money darlings are all heading to Bwighton Grammar over Melbourne Grammar.

The stuffy shirts still go to Melbourne Grammar, Scotch and Xavier but the "new money" elitists are sending their kids to either Bwighton Grammar, SKevs or Haileybury depending on the respective religious background. SKevs being RC and the rest COE.

Certainly, if your kid has any sporting talent it is straight off to Brighton G or Haileybury.

Caulfield Grammar has gone too WOKE so the new money is moving away from that school.

Unfortunately you're off the mark here Nepo, ironically for a man with the moniker "Nepotism". There's levels to the APS and no amount of neauvue riche will change that any time soon.

Let me put it a different way then. So, it doesn't matter these days. It's all very incestuous. Daniel Ward who was the Old Haileybury coach is now the Sandringham VFL coach. Most of these coaches have worked their way through the Old Bwighton, Haileybury, Old Melbournian, Scotch, Xavier and St Kevs coaching systems at one stage or another. The coaches are just recycled from one VAFA Prem A club to another. Very rarely do you see someone from outside get a gig.

If the whisper is accurate, it must be terribly dispiriting for 'Strobes' and the artist formerly known as 'rosejam'. Higher honours for Marto in every respect, though.
Yep, very disappointing.

Good luck to him, ambition is usually a good thing.

Probably got a bit to do with the fact Ward as a Melbourne player would’ve played for sandy when they were aligned and iirc he may have even had a year or two at beach rd exclusively as a zeb post his demon days

Hearing more whispers that TH King is going back to their famous "....AFL" moniker.

Very interesting season ahead. The VAFA is dying...perhaps we can bring in a few big names like the pre-COVID glory days...

over to you OXAFL
XXXXAFL
I’m here for the arms race

2026 will be defining for SKOBAFL I feel. We saw what happens when their ex-AFL talent leaves the ranks, with just the one premiership since 2018.

A bit to do for the TH King boys. As well as their big brother at Toorak Park. Some whispers I've heard about a few new employees at Salter Brothers and Marsh is promising.

You seem to have an obsession with the catholic clubs and AFL players

Those with a bit to do are all the teams who finished out of top four in 2025.

The depth of the top four clubs is vastly superior to the also rans.

Plenty more one pointers coming from classes of 2025 as well.

FWIW "with just the one premiership since 2018"

This is great.....no one has won more than 1 premiership since 2018....partly due to Covid I guess....I know it was straight sets but surely a broadly positive season for the red and black Cheer up.. 45 seems to have taken the exit hard.

Claret haven't won a final since 2016 losing five finals since ( including two straight sets exits) so it is rapidly becoming a big monkey on their back...they would kill to have 1 premiership since 2018!
