I feel like the twin thing is a massive factor. Absolutely shockingSadly the statistics are that much higher when having a close family member successfully take their own life for it to happen again in the same family.
Just a massive kick in the guts, feel for the family.
No matter how hard it can be to see, there is always more than one option.

Those closely impacted by a suicide - ie partners, immediate family, close friends - are six times more likely to take their own lives.
We have a mental health crisis in this country

Absolutely devastating news for the Selwood family and entire AFL community
Being an identical twin increases the risk five-fold on top the risk you have already highlightedSadly the statistics are that much higher when having a close family member successfully take their own life for it to happen again in the same family.
So did I. I'm shook at learning it was another Selwood. There are no words. I can't even begin to imagine what the family is going through having lost two of their sons / brothers so close together - way too young both of them. What, I assumed this was an old thread about Troy when I saw the title.
2 brothers dead in the space of 1 year is horrific.
For sure. You might think you're starting to feel a little better, and then next thing you know, something seemingly innocuous happens and the dog drags you back under the quicksand again and you can't see a way out.Just awful.
After Troy, you'd imagine he and the rest of the family would have had plenty of support and checking in with each other etc, and still, this happens. Really goes to show, how insidious the black dog and grief together can be.
RIP Adam.
Lifeline under every article. Who knows if it was related to Troy passing or another matter, but itās very disturbing.A bit early to insinuated that.
There's literally been no info other than he passed
