I'm not sure what services the players association offer once you retire and for how long. I would hope assistance is there should they ask for it.

I think we could all get around a mental health round every year to highlight and raise funds for lifeline/mental health services and to get simple RUOK conversations happening ...Spuds game is a start.

Former West Coast Eagles premiership player Adam Selwood dies just months after the death of his twin brother, former Brisbane Lions player Troy Selwood.

Just last month Adam entered the HBF Run for a Reason in Perth to raise money for suicide prevention.

This is ironic, but not in an amusing way, if anything it makes it even sadder.

As gruesome as it sounds ..an autopsy comparison on both twins’s brains would be an interesting CTE medical study / analysis.

They’ve done it in the NFL..with families giving permission to brain examinations.

Might turn out to be nothing significant..but nevertheless worthwhile if new knowledge was discovered.

Because in the medical world..twins are very unique in many ways. Sporting twins who end their lives so young would be even more unique and isolated occurrences…I’m guessing.

yeah.... but twin studies are usually around where genetically identical people have experienced different environmental factors. If identical twins are the gold standard, the ultimate platinum standard are identical twins separated at birth. Given that they are identical, then sadly it seems likely they were genetically predisposed to deep depression regardless of whatever effect CTE might have had (and that would not have helped)

That’s my point ..the brain study of the deceased twins so young that indicates abnormalities towards depression with added damage from CTE.

You can’t commit suicide unless you’re depressed in some way..I’m guessing.
