People don’t know how good a footballer he was

Some do, and it was often in fairly average teams. Gave his everything for the club and was a very astute man, not to mention a handy dentist. I never agreed with his stance on the Gold Coast issues, but that was much later in the piece. A true NMFC man and a pretty useful drinker. Thoughts to Marj and co. RIP Allen.

The North Melbourne Football Club will farewell club Legend Dr Allen Aylett on Wednesday morning, following his passing earlier this month at the age of 88

The North Melbourne Football Club will farewell club Legend Dr Allen Aylett on Wednesday morning, following his passing earlier this month at the age of 88.

Aylett was a champion footballer for the Kangaroos through the 1950s and ‘60s and became one of the game’s great administrators following the end of his playing career.

Aylett's funeral service will be streamed live in the player below from 10.30am AEST on Wednesday.
