Austin Robertson Jnr was a member of Subiacos 1973 ,Premiership side.Who broke a 49 year Premiership drought.
Captained Coached by Ross Smith Brownlow Medallist 1967.Ross CC Subi 1972 to 74..Then returned to Melbourne.
Keith Slater Captain/Coached Subi in the mid to late 1960's.And rebuilt the Subi list around ARJ prolific goal scoring ability.
Austin played one season in Victoria in 1966.For South Melbourne kicking 66 goals from 18 games.
With the changing nature of Aussie rules. It will be a rair
event to have a modern player kicking this enourmous amount of goals.
As we sadly said goodbye to Buddy as a player and RIP ARJ.

And don't forget the late Austin Robertson along with the late John Cornell and the late Kerry Packer would shock the cricket world by signing up 66 players-28 from Australia captained by Ian Chappell, 18 from the West Indies led by Clive Lloyed and 20 from 4 countries (England, South Africa, Pakistan and New Zealand) who would form a combined team called World XI captained by the late Tony Greig.

i saw him a lot in the mid sixties into the seventies especially when he played against East Perth.champion Ken mcaulley and it was always a great duel.
Ken mentioned on radio he was better then Peter Mckenna.Ken played against Mckenna at the 1972 carnival for W.A. and won the Tassie medal for the best player for the carnival so i would say he is a good judge.
Robertson also played for South Melbourne in 1966 and kicked sixty goals for a side which was a weak side at the time.He was a great kick for goal and relied on being a good leader as he was just under six foot tall.
