Two time Gold Logie winner Gerard Kennedy has died aged 93. Kennedy played Sgt Frank Banner in over 300 episodes of Division 4 and later starred in Skyways and The Flying Doctors. The story goes that when Gerard Kennedy announced he was leaving Division 4 after 301 episodes Nine boss Kerry Packer put another actor in the role but after one episode and poor ratings Packer axed the show.
Gerard Kennedy was a regular on Aussie TV screens for over 50 years and kept popping up in Australian made dramas including Underbelly.
