I hope we retire his number, to me it feels like the right thing to do..

I have been thinking about this and if the club goes ahead then they should take it out of retirement if we ever draft a kid from his junior club, Sorrento.

The joint banner thing is a great idea, would love for this to happen.

Still just so shocked. The comments from everyone on here has been fantastic.

We are Port Adelaide

Sincere condolences to John's family, his friends and teammates, and the Port Adelaide Football Club and it's supporters.

We will never forget you JMac, you were a fine young man with promise for the future. Loved by all at the club and respected in the wider community. Although we only knew you for a short time, your influence and the tragedy of your passing will never leave us.

I hope the players will honor your memory with improved performances and effort with the knowledge that you always gave 100% and that if not for this tragedy you would be in the battle with them for years to come.

R.I.P. John

Sending the PAFC, players, supporters and John's family my sincere condolences.

Such a terrible tragedy. I am still stunned.

RIP John.

Long time reader, first time poster.
Absolute tragedy to befall any young life and his/her family and friends.
My heart goes out to his friends/family and the club.

Driving home from work when I heard over the radio with MMM Melbourne.
Although incredibly stunned and speechless about this......just wanted to pass on my deepest sympathies to the supporters, the club, and most importantly family and friends. Tragic and very sad news.

Only just heard this on the radio (been in the remote Pilbara all day). Can't say much more than what's above. Condolances to all.

my utmost condolences goes out to the Port Adelaide F.C and most importantly Johns family and friends.
R.I.P, a really sad day for everyone

Some of us will be at the club this evening lighting candles and showing our respects.

I'm sure the club, players and family would appreciate any support from others.
Having keys to the gates so I can collect the bins, ill be there about 2 am over night so I will leaving some flowers or such at the main door facing the oval, I dunno what else to do, Its a small gesture and wont mean a lot, but its hard to show the man what he deserves, tragic loss of a young life

Havent cried in a while but man im shattered. Had plenty of upside and even though i never met him i followed him on twitter and sounded like a pretty chilled out nice bloke.

My heart goes out to his partner, family and the players. I could only imagine how hard it would be for the other players in Las Vegas to come to terms with the loss.

They may never get over it and thats why we need to get behind our boys. Sad Sad Day :(

RIP John Mc, condolences to your family, friends and the PAFC.
