seeing the collingwood team in the video on the AFL website was really moving, as one, heads down, to say farewell to a mate, shows that life is bigger then the AFL and I still cant believe that on FOX after the Semi Final they were suggesting Collingwood not allow there players to go to the funeral as they have a big game to prepare for, Well done Collingwood and all AFL clubs who once again showed they are one by all being represented there.

It was an absolute privilege to have attended the memorial service this morning. Both saddened and uplifted at the same time by the fantastic eulogies given by John's family and Dani.

Very moving and reinforces just what a great human John was - I only wished that I could have met him.

Attended the memorial service today. Was very moving and a very beautiful service from Alberton as well from Sorrento. The eulogies were really special and I felt like I knew John on a personal level even though I only got to know John the footballer. Dani was so strong in her speech and I could truly feel for her loss. Loved the stories from his early ages to him as an afl footballer.

John McCarthy you will be missed my friend.

I haven't expressed my condolences on BF for John as yet, but wish all the Port & Collingwood supporters the best today at his various memorial services. Of course this extends to his family & friends.
