Most of us didn't know the player but today we have all lost a family member. A family member of the Port Adelaide Football club, I know it sounds corny and all but it's how I'm feeling.

One of those moments where you realise footy is and always will be just a game - there are bigger and more serious things in life... and death. I'm deeply saddened for his family and friends' loss, and for the pain being felt by those from his club.

That would be the worst feeling, flying all that way, knowing that when you get there it will be hell. I feel so sorry for them.

I saw him when I was at the club last week, I feel horrible right now. A player with a lot of ticker and always with a smile on his face. A massive blow to the PAFC, its players and supporters. My thoughts are with his family and team mates. RIP.

Jesus. Hop back on Bigfooty after a couple of hours, only for my heart to take a sudden plummet to my stomach on opening our board. 22 is too young for anyone to die. For it to happen to a superbly fit young man, that didn't have the character flaws (narcissistic and/or aloof) common amongst AFL players just seems like adding that extra helping of 'Why him of all people?'. Condolences go out to all who knew him, but most especially to his parents. I don't think anything can be worse than a parent losing their child.
