A tribute to McCarthy is planned at the club's first home game, against GWS in round two, with the Power expecting his family, partner Dani Smarrelli and friends from Sorrento to attend. The make-up of such a tribute is also delicate on what is bound to be an emotional night, as was evidenced in Melbourne's first game after Broadbridge's passing.

A further tribute benefiting a charity in his name is planned for the round-14 clash with the Magpies.

Sure but playing at the absolute maximum week after week is near on impossible. So far so good though. You can't dwell on these things forever but I'd love to see a little love in pre & post game when Port play Collingwood but with an almighty, physical, battle during the game. Then everyone can feel like they have honoured their mate and move on.To properly honour him we need to do that every week. ...![]()
