his career is tainted with his involvement with the 'mob' and some of the good fighters around his time which he never fought.

Ali is the only three time lineal champ in heavyweight history.

No that it REALLY matters, statistics are almost irrelevant in boxing. It's very much a 'feel' rating, as opposed to cricket which is heavily statistics driven.

Like all statistics, you need context to interpret it, but it is a statistical measure, make no mistake.

what I didn't know about Ali, was he was backed by the syndicate of white wealthy businessmen to keep him out of reach of the mafia/ underworld. Especially given the journey Sonny Liston travelled and endured.

Yeah it was a beauty. Glad that they covered how many fights he actually had, how active he was after getting his license back (his 75-77 schedule was pretty hectic all things considered), and how he really was "past it" following the third Frazier fight.

His fight doctor ( Ferdie Pachedo) said numerous times Ali was pretty much shot by 1975 , by 77-78 he was even showing signs of Parkinsons.

Muhammad and Larry on 30 for 30 is a tough watch but shows how poor he was physically .
Couldnt even do speedball at that stage , skipping was poor and heavybag work looked like he was stiff .
How they let him fight is beyond belief .
