1954 premiership players
A few years back there was a thread about Ron McCarthy from the 54 premiership team, and I think at the time there were 11 living 54 premiership players. Since then, Jack Collins has passed away. Is anyone aware if all of the following 10 players are still with us? Charlie Sutton...

I never met Ron, but in my younger years went into Jack Collins' sports store and spoke to him a couple of times, met Wally Donald briefly through a mutual friend of his son, said g'day to Charlie Sutton, got an angry stare once from EJ (met EJ junior a few times though), and chatted to Ross and Angus Abbey at the footy.

Can't say I knew or saw the bloke play like some. But it is always a sad day for the club when a former player passes away, especially one that was part of a rare piece of history for us. Condolences to his family during this time.

I was stoked with Schultz as the choice to present our Premiership Trophy in 2016. Great player, club man and person in general. But part of me wished it was one of the 1954 Premiership players as well.
I hope that if we do make another Grand Final soon, that one of the remaining three, assuming any are in able enough health. Will be chosen to present the trophy over the likes of Grant, Johnno, Hawkins etc. Just feels more right to me given that team was the difference between our fans suffering decades of heartbreak, to an eternity of heartbreak.
