Gutted to hear of the passing of Wallsey.

Never saw him play, but for all of his career post playing he was an iconic "footballers, footballer". Sensible, wise and insightful. Brilliant commentator of the game and media. Had the pleasure of his company at two AFL events in the early 00's, a gentleman and a legend of AFL.

Vale.

Been a real painful couple of weeks for the Blue Baggers with the passing of Buzz and now Wallsy.

Never knew him personally, but I suspect the passing of his wife several years ago really hurt.

I am very sad cause Wallsy was my first premiership coach (I can remember) being a Carlton supporter and loved his work on 3AW with Rexy, Bondy etc (the Golden era of radio footy calling imo)

Sleep well Wallsy. Deepest sympathy and healing thoughts to David and the rest of the Walls clan.

Genuinely upset at this news.

His 1972 Grand Final heroics will never be forgotten..
