Valenti promoted

Just another slow footed slow handed grunt midfielder. will not change the dynamic of the team one iota

You do have a point but it releases Green to play forward. We have struggled in the clearances, especially last week, and Valenti is rather handy at getting his hands on the footy so I think the kid deserves a crack!

I don't understand why Bailey is persisting with this aged side. We need to get some youngsters in there to inject more enthusiasm!
Enthusiasm and youth is great but Valenti is an inside midfielder with McDonald, McLean and Jones for competition. I suspect it wouldn't be wise to play those 3 and Valenti in the same side unless they were in ripping form, so Valenti needs to be knocking the door down to get a game and I suspect he will, but it shouldn't be this week.

Not sure if I agree with that one. How many "midfielders" do Geelong have? Share the load, both in time and territory.
Can't say I've seen him play, but christ we should be trying anything and everything at the moment, and if he's half as good as what I've heard give himi a go.

i'm interested to see that come from a hawthorn supporter... he does have a lot of similarities with mitchell... do you think he will become a player near the same class of mitchell?

It depends on whether or not he has the determination that Sam has/had. Sam was a ball-magnet within his own right when he played for Box Hill, but some of his skills were lacking. He's arguably the best trainer going around at Hawthorn now - and his exquisite skills are the result of that.

If Valenti can do the same, I don't see why he can't do the same thing.

I'm still surprised Wonnaeamirri was promoted before him. Valenti was in fine form over pre-season and that form hasn't diminshed from what I've heard during the Sandy season. Give him a run, god knows Spencer and Zomer aren't ready. What is the point of naming Neitz on the LT injury list if we're not going to promote anyone.

Wonaeamirri is exactly what your team needed (forward line pressure) and has been a great inclusion, one of very few postives.

While I love Valenti, you already have Mclean, Jones, Mcdonald and Moloney as slow in and under guys.... Moloney might get dropped for a player like Valenti as I would love to see him in, he will be the next Sam Mitchell.

Two outstanding rookie pick ups in their first years.

Gotta admit, while im not jealous of Melbournes current situation I am of their future... Morton, Wonaeamirri, Valenti, Mclean, Sylvia, Bate, Rivers, Maric, Grimes and prob (sorry) Natanui as you will finish last. Exciting times ahead.
