Vance Joy or Ed Sheeran?

My mates and I were having a heated debate last night about whose music is more inspiring and invigorating - Vance Joy or Ed Sheeran. We couldn't decide.

Thoughts?

In theory I should hate both of them as their music kind of defines genres I’m not into. I don’t mind Vance Joy, but Sheeran has some serious skill as a songwriter and musician.

Vance Joy is quirky and very original.
Poor old Ed is just dull.

Sheeran has more musical chops and I respect him. Joy is derivative of his own work and never evolving.

Ed is far superior talent wise...just got back from his gig and it was sensational

Ed is talented, but personally neither artists have songs that stick out to me as that memorable at all. Not my cup of tea.

main street loves them though.

Ed has about as much talent as the guy and his guitar at my local; the idea of going to a stadium to watch just him and his guitar boggles my mind. Vance Joy had an ok first album, second is more or less the same though.
