Ask Kelvin Moore how his testicle was ruptered in the 80's.

Essendon are filth, and their bleating is making this whole thing even more hilarious if you ask me. The way they are talking they just laid down and copped it - poor diddums.

They won the game, and were miles ahead of us - good on em. But it's about time someone stood up to the scum.

Your double standards amuse me GOALden Hawk.

You had a huge dig at Hardwick for nudging a runner from behind. You called him gutless, weak and every other name under the sun.

Yet its perfectly alright for two Hawthorn players (Picioane and Bateman) to hold down someone while Vandeberg repeatedly punches the guy in the face.

Its perfectly alright for Croad to ram Misiti into the ground from behind and sending him off the field.

Thesse arent gutless, weak acts GOALden?

Pull the other one. Youve been shown out for the hypocritical fool you are.

OK, now I think I understand where you're coming from. So what you're saying is, if Saturdays game makes the Bombers prepare for their next clash with the Hawks differently than they normally would, it's had an effect.

Good point.

But the thing is, it won't. Mark Johnson said as much on SEN last night. He was asked that question, and he responded by saying that if Hawthorn think they won respect on Saturday, they're on "another wavelength". Respect is earnt by players who approach their footy like Archer. Hawthorn's little stunt on the weekend did nothing to change the way Essendon approach Hawthorn. They were 'still' thumped on the scoreboard. Nothing has changed from last season, except on the weeked we did it with Hird, Lloyd and Fletcher in the team.

Hawthorn are craving respect? They've gone the other way as far as i am concerned.

And that's the sort of post that I'm referring to. Totally missed the point - wallowing in your own arrogance. I don't think anyone has stated (or thought) that we'll get respect from OTHERS for what happened alone on Saturday, but it shows to Hawthorn supporters that the players were prepared to DO something - something lacking for a long time.
And you can't tell me that Johnson, Sheedy or anyone else won't be using that game as a reference next time we play?? Of course they will. And maybe, or maybe not, it may be enough for them to be focused on something else enough to bring them undone - next time.

Or is MJ upset their tuff guy image is shattered ? when will the great one give us the benefit of his opinion.

All MJ has done is ensured it will be 'on again' when the teams next meet. Better ask Peter Jackson where he would like it played

Unlike the runner, the Essendon players were allowed to fight back, and did so. But this seems to have been missed by people like you, who seem to think Mr. I want to bench press more than anyone at draft camp McPhee just lay there and let himself get beaten to a bloody pulp.

Mark Williams was also ridden into the ground from behind in the 2nd quarter, as luck would have it he didn't have to leave the field - no comment on that I'm guessing?

Some of the actions of the Hawthorn players on Saturday were poor, and they will be duly punished (unlike Hardwick). But this whole "Essendon were the innocent victims" line is laughable.

And it's no coincedence where Port's 2 biggest snipers started their career either.

No, you're not off-track.
Similarly to that, if particular individual players aren't going to engage concern with you or others, why bother mentioning them?? It's subliminal.
The media and supporters are looking at this with tunnel-vision. It's not about what happened on Saturday, but about what the expectation of next time is. The seed has been well and truly planted - Essendon supporters, players, coaches and the media. We are a rabble on-field atm, but we may well not be next time, and if Mark Johnson (who I'd love to have at Hawthorn) starts looking to have a go at Vanders, or Sheedy prepares the side for an 'intense physical struggle', then the 'bait' (the word I used earlier) has worked. Bigger picture for us Hawthorn supporters is that finally, legally - morally- justifiably (to anyone) or not, we showed something physical, and not coincidentally to a side that has shown us the same thing for a decade.

Spot on.

C'mon now GH, don't try and attach yourself to an intelligent post. We've all read the crap you've been spewing out, don't denigrate an intelligent forummer like Ramma by pretending you're on the same wavelength.

How quickly you Bombers fans forget!!! Misiti has a history of being a thug - I remember him kicking Cousins (one of the fairest players in the AFL) and putting him out for weeks.

Yes, Hawthorn were thugs yesterday, but don't forget the team you follow - you're being just as much a hypocrite than GOALden.

I know what our players have done in the past, every club has some history they're not so proud of.

The point is some Hawks supporters are claiming their players have somehow become tough and respected overnight. It hasn't happened, and it won't happen if that's the way they're going to go about it.

My apologies to Macca:eek: I was mainly referring to the thread starter calling Vandenburg a weak ***** and Bombers fans responding to Macca's post accusing Hawks supporters of being hypocritical.

No he was fired, plain and simple. You could probably coach the St Kilda forward line. :p

Sorry in this whole thread this was gold.

Obviously from the way both sides are going around this year it was TD who was responsible for the pies success.

Lets face it on the point of this whole thread, the bummers take pride in the fact that they are a big tough physically intimidating side. Johnson dumping Campbell on his head deliberately after the play was all but over was courage??? The Johnsons take pride in hitting but only if it can be done safely from behind!

For them to say that Hawthorn are snipers or cowards is pathetic, to blame their seasons loss on the umpires- pathetic, to constantly pretend to be tough guys whilst screaming blue murder, pathetic. How tough were they round two this year???? All kidney punches and off the ball heroes, guys like Lloyd, Johnston(both of) McPee, Mcveigh all comic book heroes. As soon as invited to swing toe to toe like saturday they went to p**s.

How pathetic, the Misiti incident was no worse than the Campbell one but a spare goal to the umpires mates.

Go to the tribunal and whinge like the soft pathetic bitches you are, yeah go on reply by telling me how many premierships you won, I'll pass you a tissue.

I love all these supporters from different clubs coming in to bag Essendon. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

And while we're on players attacking from behind, I seem to re-call Aaron Hamill lining up Murphy in the Wizard Cup directly from behind. Hamill couragous? Phurt.
