Geeze, I admire anyone for reading through all the posts on the official forum and throwing in a witty quick defence here & there.

I've been absent a week & can't be bothered catching up.

I've given up on the official forum, I'm sure everyone has turned on themselves.

I had a quick glance at the subject lines and saw some Swans knobhead has invaded our boards and decided 'NO MORE'

This place is much better. I love youse guys.

Malibu and Doc

Yes i've noticed its become quite hostile.

Our wonderful moderator tried to go in and defuse the situation (like he does greatly on here) and was rebuffed. It seems all people who support the club all the way and always say positive stuff are called "tree-huggers" and "have their head in the sand"

The only reason i go there now is to keep a tally for the Internet B&F. Having met Blakestar, Drexl, Bagso, 35eye and Hijac recently they must be decent people to put up with that crap all the time.

Sorry Malibu but I have read this so many times over the weekend. I think we are supposed to go burn the club down or something. And dont forget the coach needs sacking etc.etc etc.

Um, I did title the thread "You f*cking hypocrites", so er.....it wasn't exactly trying to diffuse the situation.

There were two points.

1. The way people are acting on the forum makes them no better than the St. Kilda and Adelaide fans who they were slagging off about one year ago for similar antics on those club forums.

2. While we can talk all we want about what the club should do, in the end, we don't pick the players, choose the tactics, train them etc. We are also effectively stuck with the list of 37 (plus any promotions from the rookie list....um....like that Mark Hilton bloke who looks the goods) for the whole year. What we can do is get behind the team....encourage them, make some noise, let them know that we're backing them through this hard time. It's much better than sitting around and having a whinge (well, enjoy having a whinge...it's been a while since we've had any real reason to have one).
 
With due respect to a lot of the regulars on the official forum, (including the funny antagonists), I'm giving it a rest too. There are a lot of new names, I don't know if some are the same old people reinvented & going the flame option but there is just a total lack of respect for the players, coaching staff & administrators while the club is under performing.

I know many of them come here lurking and for one reason or another haven't registered to contribute in here. I guess its a more intimate environment & not for everybody.

Without an active moderator in the official forum & a core group of net-heads it seems impossible to keep things sensible. Its potentially embarassing when the media have been know to check in.

They'll sort themselves out eventually if the club doesn't step in & shut it down first. Which is not so unrealistic considering the attention these forums attract.

Ok well maybe defusing was the wrong term to use.

I got what u were trying to say though pity most of them couldn't see it. i guess to us positive, up-beat roos we'll always be ostriches and "tree-huggers". I'd rather be that than aggressive know-it=alls like most of the pessimists on the offical board.

A few people already know this and I did post something about this when I first got the moderation role here, but just as a reminder, here's how the moderation works on the North board.

The general rule is that North fans have total freedom of speech while all outsiders are guests. Any reference to the families of players will be deleted. If anyone has any problems with anything posted here, they can e-mail me. I will then e-mail maybe half a dozen of the regulars on this board and get their opinion (unless they ask me not to do so) and after getting everyone's views, I'll then either let things go, lock the thread up, or delete the offending posts. So in an indirect way, we're self-regulated.
