Tom Hawkins,
Tom Lonergan,
Cameron Mooney,
Brad Ottens,
Dawson Simpson,
Harry Taylor,
Nathan Vardy,
Trent West.

How many can play this week?
You'd think they'd play 21+1

A lot of talls in that squad.
And Lappin mentioned they'd like to give the senior guys a hit out together.

So Simpson and Vardy out?

It certainly won't surprise if Mooney doesn't get up.

So could go Vardy plays as a forward. You have Taylor at CHB, lonergan - bench. That leaves 3 ruckmen, who will all rest forward with a resting tall forward on the bench.

Yeah ok.
I know they'd want to give them all a run.

Who to carlton have rucking?
In a previous interview Lappin said they may play 2 ruckmen where the other side is not strong in that area to try and dominate them.

Maybe they can practice it?

What about Corey and Chapman?
Corey hasn't got a specific injury as such, just chronic knee issues that need to be managed. For example he was saying that when went running in NY recently he was finding the paths too much and had to run on the grass - which led to him being chased by local authorities.

Chapman has some little niggle.

They only have Shaun Hampson, with some tall forwards. Not sure where Warnock is, but they wont be dominating the ruck. Blake would even smash Hampson.

Well Megan Gale was able to so you'd back Blake in for sure.

I reckon Mooney won't play although they might want to roll the dice and see if he's up to it.

From that list I'd leave Lonergan and Ottens out...don't need Lonergan with Carlton not having too many talls, and I'd give the three young ruckmen the game together so they have one last chance to press for a round one spot.

Possibly a tad off-topic but has anyone seen the latest video of Varcoe on the GFC website talking about what he did over the summer? What a great guy.

I haven't seen a lot of Varcoe in interviews but he's matured a lot from the '09 Post Grand Final interview with Andy Maher in the dressing rooms. Future leadership group position?

Varcoe is a critcial player in the post Ablett era. Crossing my fingers but hoping he can have a breakout year into star class
The only player I really look forward to watching at Geelong now Ablett has left

Well VD...I don't have to tell you about my opinion of TV.....but if you don't enjoy Stevie J playing and watching his freakish ability I would be surprised. Check out his highlights on YouTube....the guy just keeps on doing it...

A terrific player. He's a bit Daicos-like in his goal kicking ability...freakish ability.

Agree, he is freakish and I haven't missed seeing each Geelong game for the past 10 years, but he also exasperates me a lot against Pies, Saints and Hawks when we really need him to stand up. This going for frees and dropping to the ground are taking some of the gloss off. Like him kept forward too rather than chasing stats.
I do concede he is great to watch when he is ON. Just hope he is ON this year against the powers.

I must add that i just love Wojo as well. Varcoe and Wojo.
