Mod. Notice VelvetSledge stepping down from moderating duties

My fellow Essendon boardites

After wearing the dark blue for close enough to two years our esteemed colleague VelvetSledge has decided it is time to step down from moderating duties. I will let him elaborate on the reasons why if he chooses to do so but suffice to say that real life has become very busy for him all of a sudden as real life tends to do now and then.

It goes without saying that this has been at times a trying period to moderate this board for obvious reasons and I would personally like to thank VelvetSledge for making my transition to the Brave New World of modding a little easier, for helping to keep the vibe up when the vibe wanted to be down with his attitude and more generally for the mountain of work he has done in his time.

I'm very happy to say that he has been kind enough to offer to continue producing the game day threads that I (and the other mods) believe are the best on the site.

I'm sure Doss and Harlequin would like to relay their own feelings so I'll finish by saying a most sincere thanks again Velvet and maybe one day we'll see you back on the other side once you have conquered the world!

Sorry to see VelvetSledge hang up the modding britches. He's been modding here, as Beery said, for nigh on two years and it's fair to say it's been a tough two years to mod this board.

Throughout, in addition to his modding, he's kept the gameday threads and MVP voting moving without any hitches and I reckon I speak for everyone in thanking him sincerely for that.

Real life does have a habit of getting in the way in the end, and that's not necessarily a bad thing because it often means new and exciting things are occurring.

Mate, it's been a pleasure and it's great that you'll continue to stick around as a regular poster.

Thankyou to everyone for making my time as an overlord on this site completely breezy and generally incident free. You're the greatest group of people to know and to support the boys with, and I can't be more sincere in saying that I will absolutely miss ruling with an iron fist over the plebs.

But in all honesty, thanks to all, and I can rest easy knowing that the current mod team is the best on the site. I'm stepping down due to the time my new role entails in my new job; I simply don't have enough time to be online enough with the others, and after a very short discussion it was agreed that it's best to find someone who has some more time to apply to the role. Modding can take a bit out of you, and after realizing how hands-on my current position is, I couldn't justify continuing my time in the blue tracksuit any longer. Real life can be a bitch sometimes.

I'll continue writing up the GameDay threads and tallying the MVP votes, and I will, definitely, be a regular poster.
